Great bundle deals and discounts 198 45.41%

New exclusive games (All ... 21 4.82%

did they make a bundle that costed 199$ last year?

Surely this isn't because of PSAS: Battle Royale...

Correct.

It Only Does Everything

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

The X360 is facing market saturation which is causing its sales to decrease. The PS3, however, doesn't have market saturation yet and is still experiencing good sales.

tha powa of the Cell!!! XD

Price. If PS3 had cost as much as its competitors throughout the year, it wouldve been the most sold console. Even during black friday its still more expensive than the other ones.

Simply put PS3 has the best Technology.. and since.. it now has a reasonable price and the games to support it.. it will make a huge comeback.. Thanksgiving and Black Friday though saw a huge explosion.. in shopping online and off this year.. so these numbers are not surprising.. frankly I am more interested in seeing 3DS numbers after cyber Monday (Week sales) Toys R Us has it on sale with Mario 3D I believe for 170.00 (That's the price of the system alone. :O) and Target is pushing some good deals as well.. anyway.. it is going to be interesting to see the Weeks sale leading up to Christmas.. to see if they go down.. or up.. or stay the same because of the impact of Black Friday and Cyber Week..

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

What if we take 360 out of the equation and view the PS3 sales in a vacuum? You'd expect it to sell very well but why did the sales even go UP?

That's the part that baffles me. For the PS3 to go up 9% YOY when the X360 was going down ~25% YOY with the release of a major exclusive (Halo 4) doesn't make any sense.

I'm beginning to think that this is a hoax... Again.

Last year the $200 ps3 bundles actually sold out everywhere very quickly.

This year they were in stock in some stores even past black friday. Considering the massive shipment increase the ps3 showed for the end of September it seems that last year sony didn't meet the demand for $200 ps3s but this year they were able to.

As to why they didn't ship enough ps3s last year, I would guess last year PS3s weren't profitable at $200, but this year they were so sony had no reason to not try to sell as many as possible at that price, that or sony simply underestimated demand last year.
