Lol I'm getting a Wii U (and a vita) come next year, I'm saving money at the moment for work and going to buy this .... expensive as hell thing =[

I'm looking for cheaper models (this on is 3K Dollars!) , if anyone knows about them do tell.

I just upgraded my intuos, so I'm not getting a Cintiq until a few more years, but when I'll do, I won't settle for the lower spec one, that's for sure. I imagine that when I finally decide to take the plunge, there'll be more Touch versions available. Right now, only the 24HD does it, and it's very expensive (3699$ on Wacom's website). But, once you're gotten used to using touch in tandem with the regular pen tablet functions, you just can't go back. It's just that much more intuitive and fun to use overall.

Take a little longer to get the money you need, but seriously concider getting the 24HD Touch, or hope that there'll be a version of it in 22HD of it for cheaper when you're finally readu to buy yours.

Now, if you really don't care about touch features and ergonomy, then you should concider getting the smaller 22HD one over the 24HD. You'll save 500$ (it's at 1999$, on their website while the 24HD sits at 2599$), and it has the same features and screen resolution as those from the 24HD (1920 x 1080), only on a smaller screen (so in essence, you get better ppi than on the 24HD ^_-).

Because if you really don't care about touch, then you should concider getting the smalle 22HD one over the 24HD. You'll save 500$ (it's at 1999$, on their website), and still get the same features and screen resolution (1920 x 1080), only on a little smaller screen (so in essence, the ppi is better).

Such a beautiful cintiq. I could use that for my illustrations.

Yeah, the price is too much, I might wait for it to get a bit cheaper (it wont right?) , and by that time i'll have enough money to get one, right now I am on edge.

Cintiqs don't drop in price very quickly.

It certainly will, unless they completely discontinue the models to replace them with updated specced ones. Something they usually do, actually. Just like Apple.

That being said, they also tend to make cheaper versions available over time. Like the old 12WX, and the 22HD they released this year. So, while the 24HD Touch might not go down in price, Wacom will most likely release a smaller version of it that will be catter to people with lower budgets.

yeah, I reckoned that since its touch, it wont matter the size, since I can just scroll around to the area that I am working on , of course bigger size means bigger view.

LOL...just wait until the other new consoles come out accomodating the new engines of Square, Epic, Crytek and Dice. The Wii U is not far beyond this gen, It's just slightly above. Leo-J, i will keep your name down so I can remind you of this when the more powerful consoles come out.

its basically the same specs  as far as I can tell.

but with that said, generations are not really defined by specs, more so then when they're released in retrospective.

I can call the NeoGeo Pocket an "8th gen handheld" along with 3DS and Vita, and it would be true.
