I have no interest in AC, though I like the concept and wanted to like the franchise. It's just that the movement and the combat did nothing for me. It's like they wanted to give the appearance of skill rather than requiring it.

I'm just sad that the only Vita bundles on sale are AC and CoD, neither of which I want. Otherwise, I would probably buy one.

Just get the Little Big Planet bundle and pick up Persona 4 in just 3 days :O

I don't have much money so I'm looking at the $199 bundles.  Does LBP have a sale bundle?  If Persona 4 was bundled for that amount, I'd buy one without doubt.

On topic, I admit that I've only played part of the 2nd AC, so maybe I'm coming from a bad perspective, but the story seemed pretty awful.  Does it actually make sense when you have the full picture?

I enjoyed some moments on the first and the second... but yeah, it's overrated.

I disagree. You didn't even mention the limpdick conspiracy storyline or completely unacceptable amount of bugs and glitches. Those are the real reasons it's such a shit IP.

wat u talkin abot wom3n, there aint n0 bugz in dis game, y u so high badge-san

AC1 is low hanging fruit. Show me bugs from the good games in the series (II through III on the home consoles).

I found the first 2 games got boring after a few hours. Too repetitive.

I have Brotherhood, but yet to start it.

if anything it's underrated by critics. Thankfully gamers appreciate this game (as shown by the sales year after year).

Also there are sections in the games that force you to stay undetected. How is that not stealth ?

Sure, it has short bursts of stealth, but so does Uncharted 2 & 3, but they aren't stealth games.

Just because you are not forced to use stealth doesn't mean you can't. Scale up a building and throw knifes, use crossbow (brotherhood), hidden blade, poison blade, hide amongst monks etc etc.

It is easily a stealth game.

See above. Plenty of games have short episodes of stealth (even Red Dead Redemption had a mission where you had to sneak up on people), but you can't call it a stealth.

In Assassin's Creed II, I'd say approximately 20% of the missions could be played using pure stealth. That's far from a stealth game

Open world extacy of a series. It seems like you are getting good writing practice for college on here. I disagree 100%. Exploring the world is some of the funnest times.

So you didn't think the combat & freerunning were repetitive and extremely easy?

Why are you not willing to accept someone else's opinion? Is is their opinion after all.

I've only played the first so far, so I'm no expert. But even from that experience, I can say that it's not one of the worst IPs ever. But, again, take my opinion with a grain of salt.

1 was bearable.... all downhill from there.

I feel exactly the opposite. 1 was bearable, all uphill from there. Or rather, it peaked at AC2, dropped down a bit for Brotherhood and Revelations, and then rose for AC3 but not up to AC2 levels (so 2 > 3 > Brotherhood > Revelations > 1).

I had the following problems with 1:

  • Desmond was worthless, all he did was lie down and occasionally have Vidic gloat at him.
  • Altair had that god awful American accent which was retconned in Revelations.
  • Combat was clumsy.
  • Other than the assassinations, you were just doing chores for the entire game, the same little tasks over and over again
  • The 20-minute unskippable soliloquies every time you assassinated someone.
  • A complete lack of notable side characters, except perhaps Al Mualim.

I felt that this was all fixed in AC2, which didn't really introduce any problems of its own. Do you disagree?
