Watching the video review, how can people criticize it so much? It's repetitive and has very bland environments. Sounds like the original F.E.A.R. with boring areas but at least that had enough to vary up the gameplay.

Although, it seems like the multiplayer is fun. Might have to give that a try.

My mistake, its not a launch title. Not going to take back my questioning the validity of hyping Bayonetta though. Its a B game with a severely lacking story and but great hack n slash action. Without both it will stay niche. This is why people were scared that Rising would even be touched by Platinum Games, because they seem to always fail at making a game that excells on all levels within its genre.

I'll give you that, it looks like a really boring and repetitive combat mechanic. But not all reviews agree on that, so this game sits in a weird spot tbh.

So far it reminds of Catherine a little bit actually. Some people love the gameplay and it's difficulty and some people despite it for that very reason. Both games are completely different but the same logic can be applied.
