It has and always will be, gears of war = GeoW

geometry wars? ;)

GoW can be used for both Gears and God of War. Stop arguing.
It's easy to tell which one a person is referring to.

In this case GOWA was OBVIOUSLY referring to God of War. If you didn't figure it out please go back and you'll see there was an "A" in front of "GoW". There is no Gears of War Ascension as far as I know so....

GOWA 3 times higher than GOW3 on the same week (60k vs 20k). Why? I don't see it being much bigger.

Huh? I can't see it? Besides, isn't it GOWJ?

God of War: Ascension, Gears isn't up there yet.

You should've made it clear. GOW stands for Gears of War; because its a higher selling franchise, anytime you say GOW people will automatically assume you're referring to Gears of War.

Lol Gears of War is barely a bigger franchise than God of War. Not to mention a higher majority of people know Kratos and barely anyone knows the marcus guy (w.e his name is). And btw, when he said GOW I automatically thought of God of War. There goes your "anytime you say GOW people will automatically assume you're referring to Gears of War" statement. Have nice day.

LOL!

1) God of War came out first in March 2005 whereas Gears of War released November 2006.

2) God of War has a much larger and faster growing fanbase meaning more people use the acronym 'GoW' when talking about God of War (according to largest Facebook fan group):

God of War: 3,394,853  VS.  Gears of War: 2,145,537.

3) The God of War franchise (22m) is bigger than Gears of War (18m but probably undertracked a bit) at the moment and the gap will grow because GoW: Ascension will be bigger than GeoW: Judgment and there will be another God of War game for the PS Vita within the next 2 years growing the gap even bigger.

4) The God of War trilogy is more critically acclaimed than the Gears of War trilogy (GameRankings).

God of War =  92.96% VS. Gears of War = 92.86%.

As you can see, God of War >>>> Gears of War, thus GoW currently and will forever mean God of War. :)

I once loved the Gears of War franchise but GeoW 3 (which I bought the Epic Edition for) put me off big time no matter how hard I tried to force myself to love it and GeoW: Judgment looks like shit. Oh yeah, you can use GeoW for Gears of War by the way.

With that said, here's my opinion on the pre-order data. Bioshock Infinite looks overtracked, GoW:A/Halo 4/ COD: BO2/ AC3 look undertracked, Hitman's doing decently and I have no comment on the other games. All a bit 'meh' to be honest.

I'm not even going to argue with most of your flawed argument but you do realize that Gears of War set the tone for this generation and basically created the way third person shooters are today with its cover system?  I believe Gears of War is revolutionary and the trilogy outsold the god of war trilogy.  Seriously what the hell was that even about and what was the point in having such a bias argument?  Gears and God of War are not even close to being the same game or same genre, so are you really going to compare the two?

Are you serious? If his statement is bias than what do you think about your fellow Xbox gamers comment? I made it bold for you.

GOW = Gears of War. Higher sales = rights to the acronym

Wow, that's a big contradiction.

Edit: And no, that's not how it works.

Yes it is.

Seriously a bitchfight about a game acronym?!

@chris: Thanks for the extended list. :)

Seriously who cares?! Both Gears of war and God of war can stand for Gow. Personally, I just say Gears, but it really shouldn't matter. Like VGking mentioned, it's easy to know which one someone is talk about if your half way intelligent.

@JusThatGamer, if your going to compare sales at least be fair doing so. Gears 1-3 compared to Gow 1-3 and then the two spinoffs for each game arriving next year, if you are going to do a comparison. Including the prequels from the psp and all the collections is a cheap shot way to say this franchise has sold more.

Well done Persona and Liberation, but neither are enough to give Vita the push it needs. Cod isn't even on there so there's no hope for that. That price drop in Europe may suffice for now, but Vita needs some big announcements soon and some damn marketing for its games.

SIGH.

1. Liberation will give Vita a boost. We don't know how big, but there is a bundle and people love bundles so...BOOST.

2. Call of Duty Vita is on there. It's #50. Release Date is wrong though.

3. There is no price drop in Europe.

4. It's getting marketing. I've seen a lot of Liberation ads.

SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

1. I really don't see how it'll be enough.

2. It's #50 and coming out in a couple weeks. Need I say more?

3. I read about the temporary one, was that disproven?

4.  I'll take your word for it, even though I've seen fuck all.

God of War Ascension is doing fine.
Sly 4 amazes me.
The Last of Us will be big
Nice seeing Beyound entzering the charts
And Assassins Creed Vita will finaly push some systems

PS all stars and LBPK are gonna flop. I've won that bet easily. 2013's PS3 exclusives are gonna be big though.
