Forums - Music Discussion - Adele - Skyfall (James Bond theme)

Here's the song, which just came out:

_____________________________________

Anyway, I've been listening to a lot of the previous James Bond themes recently and most of them are fantastic, particularly Live and let die (Paul McCartney), Die another day (madonna), tomorrow never dies (sheryl crow), casino royale (some random band which I forget), goldeneye (Tina turner), quantum of solace (jack white & Alicia keys) and another one which I forget the name of. Adeles is pretty good, but it isnt my favourite Bond theme by a long shot.

What do you think of it? How does it compare to the older ones?

Goldfinger and Diamonds Are Forever are the best

Pretty good but not as good as my favorite three Bond songs A View to a Kill, The Living Daylight and Live and Let Die. Of all the bond theme songs so far their has been 23, its easily in the top ten though.

You liked the Die Another Day and Quantum of Solace themes? They're the worst in my opinion.

I don't really know if I want to listen to it, I'd rather hear it for the first time when I go and watch Skyfall. I hope it's good though, most people are bored watching the opening credits but I love them.

"Goldeneye" is a pretty decent Tina Turner song but its nowhere near as good as her best movie song that would be "We don't Need Another Hero" from Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome.

Proper song added to OP

Y?

You seem to have mixed in 'Goldeneye' and 'You know my name', which are both excellent Bond themes, with a load of drivel like 'Tomorrow never dies', 'Another way to die' and worst of all... 'Die another day'. Not just a bad Bond theme, but a bad piece of music, period! (imo, of course)

Anyhow, I actually quite like 'The world is not enough' as Axum said, and 'A view to a kill' as Chris Hu mentioned.

Adele's take is definitely par for the course. It's pretty decent.

The songs are usually a big part of the film, it's usually a big part of the opening sequence.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

pretty boring unfortunately - Adele could have done better than that in my opinion
