Which is the better OS?

Android 52 51.49%

iOS 32 31.68%

Windows 13 12.87%

Symbian 2 1.98%

Blackberry OS 1 0.99%

Other 1 0.99%

Total:101

In the heat of the discussion about samsung vs Apple, there are people on many sides of the fence discussing which mobile OS is better.

You're ought to vote on the poll based on your consumer approach to the OS.

If you're a developer, please share with the community the apps you've made and your insight about which platform you see the best for developing and marketing your apps.

Quality discussion is always appreciated and if you're a dev wannabe pretending to know about it when you can't even code tic tac toe, please don't even bother to discuss the OS from a developer standpoint and vote simply as a consumer.

Apple iOs

Nobody has used windows yet so they can't vote for it. I have a feeling I would vote windows after I try out the new version. Android is a basket case as far as I am concerned,

There are numerous windows phones out there already...  :S

I selected other as I'm going with Vita, but I have limited experience with mobile OS's having only an iPod Touch 4 and an older Blackberry which I really enjoyed at the time, it just wasn't up to par smartphone wise back then. I guess I should have chosen Blackberry? I plan on getting an Android phone soon so my opinion might change, but PS Mobile is launching in two weeks and that inclusion might go over very well depending on how it is implemented in the OS. Without a few updates Vita will start to become rather cluttered. An update to provide folders or internal list of programs inside of an app would do wonders.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

iOS. By a mile.

So you are basically saying that previous Windows phones are trash.

iOS easly.

- Simples and easy UI
- Intuitive
- Stable
- Clean and light
- Better app support
- Beautiful and modern
- Etc

So Android is winning by a small margin so far.

Also, I wanna share this tidbit:

According to research firm IDC, Google’s Android OS has been bringing in some exceptional numbers during this year’s Q3. As reported by the Huffington Post, Android held a monstrous 68% of the world’s smartphone market share, followed by Apple at 17%. During Q3, a total of 104.8 million devices were sold which is quite the jump from last year’s Q3 figures.

Following Google and Apple is RIM at 4.8%, Symbian at 4.4%, and Microsoft at 3.5%. Of course, analysts will be keeping their eyes glued to Apple’s numbers as the iPhone 5 begins to become available for consumers.

This is obviously going to change massively with the arrival of the iPhone 5, but even so, its clear where the consumer preference is.

iOS for the UI, ease of use, and solid functionality. I don't want to have to trouble shoot or restart my phone every other day, so I'll take these aspects any day over anything 'cutting edge' the other OS's have.

Android, although I don't see how anyone can say one is vastly better than the other. Android is FAR more customizable, iOS is more customer-friendly. I would like to think most of us here like to customize our gadgets, and that we are more "techy" than the regular consumer, which is why I don't understand comments like "iOS is MUCH better because it's simpler"

Well, as a developer and a PC fanboy, I deal with bugs all the time. I really don't wanna have to deal with a buggy phone. I don't know how far the Android OS has come in this aspect, but I remember it being horrendous for the first few years, regardless of its customizeability (If this isn't a word, it is now).
