Forums - Politics Discussion - American Libyan Consulate Attacked. US Ambassador and 3 others dead on Anniversary of 9/11

As many of you likely know there were some significant events on September 11 yesterday. In Cairo Egypt there were protesters who breached the American Embassy, tore down the American flag and put up a black flag. Later in the day it was learned that an extremist mob in Libya were responsible for the death of the American Ambassador as well as 3 other Americans. Some are saying there is evidence it could have possibly been a coordinated attack that has links to Al Qaeda. It was earlier reported that the Embassy breach by the group in Cairo Egypt was linked to anger over an online film an American citizen had made depicting the muslim prophet, Muhammad in a very unpleasant light. Most American political figures have called the killings in Libya outrageous. Discuss below any thoughts you may have on the events. Please, always remember to be civil towards one another in your posts.

Considering the origin of Guy Fawkes masks, Islamist rioters wearing them is ironic.

Love and tolerate.

Well, you can't blame them for not liking to see their Prophet depicted in an unfavorable manner. I just hope they don't hear about this book I read that portrayed Muhammad in a very negative light. It was called the Qur'an.

Ooh, I'm borrowing that.

Love and tolerate.

I think retribution needs to be taken tenfold, the worst part is they had nothing to do with any of that.

I should start a business that makes American flags because it seems like there is a high demand for them.

The world is unfortunately filled with evil.....pretty depressing really

Good idea. Nothing makes me madder than to see an angry crowd burning a shoddy paper American flag with like 8 stripes and 10 stars. Lazy bastards.

I dont really understand how a simple video could cause a riot mentality. Im lds and there are negative videos made about my religion pretty much every day, especially now with romney and all. I dont ever feel like i need go do some rioting after hearing about a video...

Draw mohammed day should be made a yearly event. Seriously, some muslims need to get used to the thought that not eveyone follows their laws and holds their values.

I hope people doesn't get scared into silence but goes in the opposite direction. If the internet and media becomes flooded with "offensive content", maybe their extremists will get the point.
