Raziel is an 07 account but the first post of his account was actually a few days after Porcupeth got perma'd. The age of the account is irrelevant.

The IPs match up with Porcupeth and the alt account that got Porcupeth banned. Raziels account is the only one out of 95000 to match up with these other permabanned accounts. The posting styles are identical and so are the console/ game preferences.

Raziel liked to be on the borderline of what was and wasnt okay. He was always suspected of being an alt due to this and when he slipped up with IPs, all it took was a look back at Porcupeth's post history to see that the IP match wasnt the only thing that the accounts had in common.

Ok, thanks for clearing things up!

It just seems weird to start using your VGChatz account 7 damn years after it was made! :S

It is, but I expect you've went to a site and made an account and then never used it before as well. He just actually came back and used it, just quite a while later.

True, but most of the time I don't use said-account for months, maybe a year at most!

I feel like the mods are way to soft and it is annoying because people are getting banned and banned over and over again and are allowed to come back...Those people are the kind of members who make communities look bad..

is this because vgchartz would lose many members and would be very slow/and small (community wise)?

I've got to disagree that they are too soft. I think they are very good with normal bans, but perma bans really should be thought about carefully and not just given out. The mods shouldn't be any harder on that than they currently are, maybe even a little more lenient. Some really good (IMO) members of this site are close to permabans and I think it would be a real shame if they got perma'd. Maybe some people are a little more antagonistic than we would like but if they are contributing to the site and giving us a bit of fun with their posts as well then I think it's better to keep them.

Well I have to disagree most users got banned for good reasons and if they have been banned a lot I don't consider them good users.  Their are plenty who got banned, come back and act nice and then got banned again because their will be a day they will act like they did before.. Their is a lot of flaming going on lately and trolling and warnings would be more welcome...

so... what you are saying is that he didn't actually mean it when he said he didn't want to come back... or that we could have our corner of the internet to "praise" our failed systems safe from reality?

Raziel was a bit of a thorn in the PlayStation fanbase anyway, being disrespectful to anyone not Sony and all. The site is probably much better without him.

It's not the mods that are soft, it's the loopholes in the website coding that allow people to keep coming back. For example, people can keep creating accounts with the same email address.

The mods themselves are actually pretty good at what they do, which is why this is a much better community than some other websites. There are still the annoying f*nboys, but those exist everywhere, and at least they can't be blatantly disrespectful here.

I have no problem with the loopholes.... I have problems with the member who are +20 times banned and are still active with their account on this site... Not going to name those people...     The ones who come back with a different account get swiftly banned so that is fine for me...

Hey Cone can you elaborate on why tbone was banned? I really don't think he said anything too bad. Especially not 20 day ban worthy.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Sure. It's a combination of multiple things.

He already had a needless back and forth with BubbleGamer, which triggered my warning rather than a straight ban. He then continued to get worse until he made the post which got him banned, and it would appear that, even with a second warning, he still would have continued. Out and out, there's been worse posts from him and other people, but combined and with his history (this is now his 11th moderation for flaming, all very similar in style to this one hence the length), it was enough to warrant the ban.

Hope that has cleared things up for you!
