Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Land : Would You Buy It?

Even though Nintendo  Land wasn't the best game to end a conference (Yes, Nintendo! I'm talkin' about your press con!), but when I got my hands on it for the first time., the actually game was actually pretty good. I enjoyed the heck out of Nintendo  Land at E3,  and the videos are proof of that.  And I could see why it's labeled as the next Wii Sports for Wii U...

...but would I buy it? No. As a stand-alone game? No! Why? 'Cause I want Nintendo Land to be bundled with the Wii U, just like Wii Sports with the Wii. I didn't buy a Wii for Wii Sports. I bought a Wii for Zelda and Mario Galaxy. Same goes to Wii U.

Nintendo Land is the perfect introduction to Wii U's asymmetrical gameplay, just like Wii Sports with Wii's motion gameplay. Unless Nintendo Land is bundled, I won't be playing it and my family, friends, and I will miss out on those awesome mini games and it's 10x better than Wii Sports, and I certanly won't pay  full price for it as a stand-alone game.

What do you guys think? Should NL be bundled by default? or should it be a stand-alone game?

I'm with you--I played it at the show, and while it was a lot of fun, I wouldn't pay $50-$60 for it. If it is bundled with the system, however, I could see it getting a fair bit of use from me and my friends.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I'm pretty sure it's going to be bundled for North America/Europe.

It basically "explains" the Wii U to the casual user and is also good viral marketing for Nintendo IP a lot of younger/casual players may not know about these days -- ie: F-Zero.

nothing mind blowing but seeing this i cant help but think the mario party on WiiU could be great

I would buy it. The question is how much I would pay for it. Nintendo has to show me much more, but so far I'd drop about $10 on it.

I would buy it if it's bundled with the WiiU or with a Wiimote+. I think we all assume Nintendo is going with a WiiU bundle for this game. It's great advertisement for their franchises. Gives consumers a taste of the Gamepad gameplay with different classic titles and then they can follow through later in the WiiU's life with full retail releases of said franchises. Pretty smart.

The more I see and hear of the first hand experiences the more likely I consider myself getting this game.

I heard it might come with a free games console. If this turns out to be true, I can't resist a deal like that!

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

I think we will see this go the Wii Fit Plus direction, which was 20$ standalone. Wii Sports Resort was 50$ with WM+ or 30$ standalone. Wii Play came bundled with a Wii Remote which means it's likely 10$ - 20$ alone. Therefore, it could retail for like 20$ give or take which is what I'm willing to pay from what I've seen and heard of the game.

It depends on the price. If it's a cheap downloadable game, I fon't see why I wouldn't get it.
