Forums - Gaming - Nobody disputes that Sony can't possibly do 4K resolution for PS4

Meanwhile, Nintendo getting hammered for a mere 1080P even after Reggie claimed so at the last E3.

What's going on?

Edit: 4K resolution is equivalent to 2x 1080P.

Shouldn't it have been "can" instead of "can't" in the thread title?

Anyway, apples and oranges.

A 4K resolution for simply displaying movies is easier to achieve than to run 1080p native resolution in modern AAA games. Even PS4 and Nextbox will most likely have the majority of their games run in only 720p according to some prominent developers.

Fanboys defending their company, nothing new there and Sony can do it, but imo it will be a disastrous move by them

Nintendo and PC gamer

Lol at 4K.
Didn't the PS2 'support' 1080p?... doesn't mean shit if the PS4 (or X720) supports it or not because no games will support it.

in gaming? anyone thinking that is delusional.

Around the Network

SONY were talking about output, not native resolution of games.

No double standards here.

I hear they're making 4k TVs, but I haven't heard anyone suggesting 4k resolution on the PS4.

Nintendo is the Sony of this generation(in terms of criticism) while Sony takes a vacation to limbo to prepare itself for the scrutiny for next gen. Meanwhile MS is in a safe haven and can do know wrong.

this, is why they hate Sony

I would say it's a combination of two things:

1) People/the media enjoy criticizing Nintendo more since they stand on higher ground following this generation.

2) It's pretty damn obvious that it can't.
