How about this basic statement:

All forms of violence should be banned, apart from self-defense.

Anyone disagree?

Does that go for everything? Like TV and Games?

Because a lot of people would lose money.

Well I could agree on that but we all can also agree that that'll never happen.

@Kantor. I disagree. Man and woman only. Sex change doesn't count either.
Abortion should be illegal.
Government shouldn't give out contraceptives. Should be place of people if they believe in such a thing to buy them.
Marijuana should not be decriminalized not even for medicinal use.
Less social programs.
I guess I am pretty conservative in my views, but where I am very liberal is in my beliefs that the environment needs to be protected.

You're right that civil rights is a stretch, since the question of what is a "right" or which kinds of rights are endemic to man seems to be at the roots of most of our disputes.

I mean, you disagree with portions of the Federal Civil Rights Act, do you not? Like the ones that ban businesses from discriminating based on race, with the idea that the free market would correct for that, but that it was nobody's "right" to tell business owners what they could and couldn't do.

You're right, I do not believe that anybody has a right to partake in trade with an unwilling participant. If a business took a particular view, I would not "leave it to the markets", so to speak, I would actively campaign and inform others about that businesses bigotry, and encourage people to go elsewhere.

Violence aimed at other people is legal in the US? :O

every politician has to be for the legalization of marijuana as long as he isn't against the legal use of alcohol as part of his beverage.

i drink alcohol but don't smoke weed but i just can't be against that when drinking alcohol. with the netherlands as my close neighbour (30km away) beeing there a lot of times i think their system should be in every country if it comes to this.

I thought you actually meant that we should all stop it and go on as a loving society or whatever. >_>

So... yes we do have laws!

Except for Ants, they are abused.
