Cant companies sue this guy because he is badmouthing/ lying about games on purpose? This is obviously not opinion its making money at somebody elses expense.

I mean if I say things about a person that are not true and might even cost this guys job or something that ruins his life etc I can get sued.

He doesn't really say untrue things though. He just writes like a child (for instance the FFXIII review was filled with fap fap fap fap fap... a few times, rating that game that low is fine, he just acts like a 12 year old which I guess is appealing to some). He takes the contrarian argument and finds things he chooses to ignore in games he gives high scores for hits too often. I think he's admited it as well.

We know Jim Sterling by name. Just think about that. Aside from that guy from IGN whose name I can't remember, how many online video game reviewers do you know by name? There's a reason for this.

I admit that I haven't played The Last Story, yet. Sterling has and I haven't. So maybe he's right. When/if I do play it, I may have a different opinion from Jim Sterling. Different people have different opinions, right? My thing is that he ALWAYS seems to go against the grain and has the standout point of view. If you like it, he hates it (or at least dislikes it a lot more than average). If you hate it, he loves it. Lollipop Chainsaw and Deadly Premonition are 9/10 and 10/10 titles? Get the fuck out of here.

I am so done with Destructoid that it's not even funny. Too bad because I actually like the Destructoid show. I even follow Tara Long and Max Scoville on Twitter. They're just casualties. Jim Sterling has poisoned me to that site and everything associated with it.

These are the ones off the top of my head.

He normally ties to be controversial and imo Underrates things for hits, and overrates things he likes. I don't always disagree with his scores. But his writing is very immature etc. However, I do find Last Story significantly (2-3 points lower than xenoblade personally), the musics great though as expected.

Based on those scores you have given, this person is the best commerical website games reviewer in the past 10 years.

Because he is reviewing subjectively - Reviwing FUN.

You know, what a game is all about.

Go buy a copy of Deadly Premonition and tell me how much fun you have. It's 10/10 game, isn't it? I got it for $19 at launch, brand new. It should be pretty easy to find.
