Update: yeah, there's definitely something going wrong with this game's shipment. I had it preordered, and they still haven't gotten any shipment at all in my gamestop, with release day today. They said "check back tomorrow..."

Yeah, I checked online and it was supposed to release on Tuesday.  When I went to Gamestop, the guy told me it would come in on Friday and that I needed to pre-order or I'd have to wait a while for it.  Yeah, they say that about every game but this time, I believed them.  I'll get it tomorrow or Saturday.

Game Informer came down pretty hard on this game, too. Maybe that asshole was right. Still, it's a shame that he's ruined his reputation to the point where, even if he's telling the truth, nobody can trust him anymore.

Game Informer? People take that publication seriously?

Well....it's the only multi-platform magazine that survived my childhood.  Gamepro, EGM (the REAL EGM and not that shitty rebirth), Die Hard Game Fan, Incite, Gameplayers, etc. are all dead.  I actually find myself agreeing with them more often than not.  Anyway, they gave it a 6/10.

On another note, I gotta change my info at Gamestop.   Every time I pre-order a game, they call my house when I'm at work and tell my GF that it's available.  Then, she gets pissed at me for buying another game.  Damn women/Gamestop.

That's because of Game Informer's tie in with Gamestop. Without it, they would have went belly up long ago.

Yeah, I know.  There was a time when I noticed (But nobody else did) that any game made by Activision got higher reviews in Game Informer than anywhere else.  My first time noticing this was with True Crime New York.  That game was horrible and it got like 3/10 from many publications.  Game Informer was giving out 8/10 and higher.  I couldn't even finish the first few missions in that game.  I eventually gave it away

So, no.  I stopped blindly trusting Game Informer a long time ago.  Like I said, I do tend to agree with their reviews these days.  I guess they've become a little more honest.  I still think their sole purpose is to sell games for Gamestop but they know what they're talking about most of the time, too.  They tend to have really well written articles about the current state of the industry as well as gaming's past.

Just saying.  And I suspect this post is horribly worded and goes in every direction.   I have guests and I'm trying to talk to them and type at the same time.  Sorry.

Bought it. I do like the combat system, a system of drawing aggro on demand

And Xenoblade has gotten me perfectly used to the British accents
