how in the world does black ups look that bad on the vita? How is it hard to release the same exact game on ps3/360 running at 30fps.. COD looks horrible on ps3/360

1) why are you even interested in cod on vita...why buy a knock off game over the real thing.

2) of course it looks worse... not like Vita is as powerful as PS360.

3) PS360 versions already run at 30fps.... where is vita going to go down to?

All Call of Duty games are locked at 60 frames per second on consoles. That is the one point they emphasize every time they launch a new one to stand out from competitors. They could make it look as good as other games but frames per second would suffer.

not locked, but targeted 60 fps.

the ps3 version dips to as low as 45 fps, and the xbox version goes as low as 50 fps.

COD games run at 60FPS on consoles.

Whether it dips or not, its irrelevant to the fact these are 60FPS games, not 30.

i agree?

not sure what your point is, or if you understood my point.

i know COD is a 60hz game. he said it was locked, i was pointing out it isnt.

Crysis 2 and Uncharted 3 are both 30hz games, but only uncharted is locked 30hz, crysis drops below 15hz

lol @ the people bitching that the Vita isn't mainstream, heads up guys, it never will be, and no one will care......sorry

It's locked in the sense that it can't go over 60 FPS. No game (that I'm aware of) is "locked" at 30 FPS because all essentially drop at least a bit at some point or another.

That's not technically true, you can do a game that never goes under 30 fps, but it's absurd as you are throwing away tons of performance, unless it's intended as in a 2D simple game. Mario Andretti said that if you have the car always under control, you aren't pushing the car enough. In graphics, if you have a too steady framerate near the target level, you aren't pushing the hardware enough.

You can't play AC liberation on ps3

But you can play AC3.  That's the point I'm making.

I don't think touchscreen controls is enough to differentiate itself from it's console brethern.  Buy a copy of AC3 on PS3 for $60 or buy a copy of ACL on Vita for $50?  It's not contest really.  And imagine this scenario play out in the mind of consumer in the game store - buy a copy of AC3 on PS3 and/or buy a PSP + ACL + memory stick for $320 - $380.

Not happening.  Vita needs for games like Tearaway.  Not ACL.

I think this was a great conference.

Cross buy is awesome and gives gamers such a great value and I really, really like Tear Away.

At the same time, I don't think Sony really gets it. For existing Vita owners, this conference is awesome. For prospective buyers, it doesn't do much of anything because Cross buy caters to existing Sony PS3 fans.

It's clear now that Sony doesn't understand portable gaming. They want to make the Vita an extension of the PS3 as opposed to a portable with it's own identity. They just want to replicate the console experience on the Vita instead of giving it its own exclusive content. No is going to buy AC3 on Vita when they can get it on PS3. No one is going to buy CoD with Nihilistic behind it and they have a superior version on their PS3. Sony did nothing to differentiate the Vita from the PS3, and that's going to bite them in the ass.

In the end: Great conference, and they really aimed to please existing Vita fan as well as PS3 fans on the fence about the Vita. But nothing they announce will resonate with the mainstream and Vita sales will not improve by much at all.

what was it that I said was Sony's problem, not actually doing anything wrong but assuming people can figure out simple shit or something like that but, this post right here, is exactly what I was talking about

perfect example really *saved*

They are two completely different games, unless you consider all games in a single series to be one game. Plus its 40 bucks, less on psn.

AC:L is 40$. MSRP for full scale Vita games is generally 40$. There's only been 2 exceptions

Vita games also usually get a 10% price decrease on PSN as well. There have been only 2 exceptions to that as well I believe.
