sweet, now to see sony rip off nintendo again!!

how is sony ripping off nintendo? the WiiU? you really got to be kidding me here, the WiiU isnt out yet, the vita was announced before the WiiU was, and this kind of functionality was talked about by sony before the WiiU was even announced. also i havent seen anything on the WiiU controlled play out as good and creative as the LBP2 demo

everyone copies nintendo! nintendo wont last generation, so they're the masters now!

lool yes yes sony also copied nintendo on popeater and tear away two right? i mean tear awar is basically a paper mario clone !!

I found that the conference was a success , nothing to reproach Sony with !! .. at least it's better than the E3 conference, What do you think ?

well overall its hard to say, in terms of the vita there is no doubt, tearaway and killzone were mind blowing (specially tearaway). in terms of PS3 its hard to say, in E3 they showed big AAA games, in this confrence they chose to show there more creative games. playstation move had a better showing here, until dawn seems to have a nice concept "survive until dawn" and play with 7 difference characters, but when i heard who the developer is i kinda lost hope in the tittle, also wonderbook did show to have some good support (not that i care but im just saying). the thing is people had very high expectations from E3 but very less from GC, and sony showing 4 new IP's did certainly help alot.

Bold: You can't get Liberation on PS3 though...

What about Tearaway though? That sure seems like a really good fit, and is not a PS3 game.

Tearaway looks great.  It reminds me a game Nintendo would make in terms of tailoring it to all the hardware's special features.  Great use of the rear touch pad.

But you can play AC3.  That's the point I'm making.

I don't think touchscreen controls is enough to differentiate itself from it's console brethern.  Buy a copy of AC3 on PS3 for $60 or buy a copy of ACL on Vita for $50?  It's not contest really.  And imagine this scenario play out in the mind of consumer in the game store - buy a copy of AC3 on PS3 and/or buy a PSP + ACL + memory stick for $320 - $380.

Not happening.  Vita needs for games like Tearaway.  Not ACL.

Okay, so why would people buy NSMB2 instead of NSMBWii or U? They are completely different games. Why can't people understand this?

Regarding that scenario, that won't be a problem since they announced a bundle for it at the same price as the Vita alone.

NSMB2 and NSMBU are not completely different games.  Their both Mario games in the "New" series and share more similarities than diffeence.  The difference here is that the 3DS has games that differentiate itself from the Wii U and Mario actually sells a shit ton hardware.

For example, the DS Zelda games were very different from the Wii Zelda games, they had their own identity and were worth picking up and playing on their own because they were so different from the console versions.  I don't think you have that kind of difference with AC3 and ACL.  Even bundled, I don't think it's gonna move tons of units.  It's like you're double dipping.  But I'll be fair and wait until I see more of ACL - might be hidden surprises in there that might make it less of a me-too mini me version of the PS3 game.  I'm doubting it though.

And what pretail may that be?  Monster Hunter 4?  A sequel to a console title.  Zelda?  Oh right Ocarina of time is a port of a console title.  Mario Kart 7?  Yes a sequel to the console title.  Super Mario 3D Land?  Closest thing... and is a 3D version of a 2D title, which happens to be on the Wii.  Kid Icarus could have been done on the Wii.  Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop is being compared to Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, which are console games.

*Buy a PS3 game and get Vita version for free.

OK THIS ONE IS STUPID.

For two reasons:
1. It simply shows that Sony is treating the Vita as a portable home console.
2. What incentives have developers got to make games for VITA if you can buy a PS3 game and get a free one for your portable? Why would anyone buy a vita version of a game ever again lol.

All Call of Duty games are locked at 60 frames per second on consoles. That is the one point they emphasize every time they launch a new one to stand out from competitors. They could make it look as good as other games but frames per second would suffer.

not locked, but targeted 60 fps.

the ps3 version dips to as low as 45 fps, and the xbox version goes as low as 50 fps.

Good observation. You are right.

That's exactly what I thought when I read that.

Don't try to downplay Kid Icarus.  It's precisely the type of game I'm taking about.  You can't get it on the Wii or Wii U, you have to buy a 3DS to enjoy it.  And what difference does it make that it could've been done on Wii?  The point is that it isn't on Wii. Super Mario 3D Land

But let me make this easy for you to understand by giving you this one perfect example:  Notice how main series Pokemon are ONLY released on Nintendo's handhelds...  If you buy a Nintendo home console, the best you can do for a Pokemon fix is a spinoff.  If you want Pokemon, you MUST buy a Nintendo handheld.

Vita's biggest games are down-sized console games that are releasing alongside superior versions of said games on HD consoles.  And calling a Nihilistic developed Call of Duty a down-sizing is putting things very nicely here.  Sony is making the Vita an extension of the PS3 and that will be the system's undoing.  Cross buy may hurt more than it helps.
