But you can play AC3.  That's the point I'm making.

I don't think touchscreen controls is enough to differentiate itself from it's console brethern.  Buy a copy of AC3 on PS3 for $60 or buy a copy of ACL on Vita for $50?  It's not contest really.  And imagine this scenario play out in the mind of consumer in the game store - buy a copy of AC3 on PS3 and/or buy a PSP + ACL + memory stick for $320 - $380.

Not happening.  Vita needs for games like Tearaway.  Not ACL.

Okay, so why would people buy NSMB2 instead of NSMBWii or U? They are completely different games. Why can't people understand this?

Regarding that scenario, that won't be a problem since they announced a bundle for it at the same price as the Vita alone.

NSMB2 and NSMBU are not completely different games.  Their both Mario games in the "New" series and share more similarities than diffeence.  The difference here is that the 3DS has games that differentiate itself from the Wii U and Mario actually sells a shit ton hardware.

For example, the DS Zelda games were very different from the Wii Zelda games, they had their own identity and were worth picking up and playing on their own because they were so different from the console versions.  I don't think you have that kind of difference with AC3 and ACL.  Even bundled, I don't think it's gonna move tons of units.  It's like you're double dipping.  But I'll be fair and wait until I see more of ACL - might be hidden surprises in there that might make it less of a me-too mini me version of the PS3 game.  I'm doubting it though.

And what pretail may that be?  Monster Hunter 4?  A sequel to a console title.  Zelda?  Oh right Ocarina of time is a port of a console title.  Mario Kart 7?  Yes a sequel to the console title.  Super Mario 3D Land?  Closest thing... and is a 3D version of a 2D title, which happens to be on the Wii.  Kid Icarus could have been done on the Wii.  Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop is being compared to Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, which are console games.
