IIRC A Devkit always has higher specs than the final hardware. (you need more ram and more processing power to develop games and you have to use multiple devtools at the same time). So don't expect those specs matched for the future Xbox

My mistake Chris, sorry dude.

Not sure where an 8-core Intel CPU is coming from unless, like the source says, it is Atom based. Finally, I think it's possible that Microsoft is working with Nvidia again on the home console front , afterall they are working together on the tablet front. |
Multitasking vs 8gb RAm..
Damn....
Yay!!!

Wii U Ram- Unconfirmed X-Box 720 Ram- Unconfirmed Wii U- Power 7 based CPU confirmed. Core number unconfirmed. Clock speed unconfirmed. X-Box 720- According to this rumor it is not an AMD, it's an Nvidia. So... stick with one rumor at least. At any rate unconfirmed. Wii U GPU- Custom AMD. Otherwise, unconfirmed. Making any comparisons based on the highly speculative information we have is really just silly at this point. |
Rumours are all that we got bud.
Yay!!!

No problem I could have written it better.

If rumors are all we have, then personally I'd rather wait until there is something more concrete to go on before making unfounded speculations. If you have fun speculating on the rumors, by all means go ahead, but a lot of people seem to be taking these less than half complete rumored specs as gospel.

That shouldn't be hard to see why.

As long as its not too pricey I don't think most people are ready for another $599 anouncement at E3. If its close to that ($549 and up) or more they better not anounce it at E3.
There's no reason for MS not to work with nvidia. They're businesses, not children who refuse to play together because last time jimmy didn't share the train. Not working with a company out of spite is the wrong way to go.

Xbox 360 has become a benchmark because the hardware isn't as exotic as PS3's. |
This!
The 360 is used as a benchmark cause everyone knows what it can do.The console is maxed out for years now and only Engine tweaking for the Unreal Engine is showing some improvements. But that is thanks to EPIC and others who push that Engine.
The PS3 on the other side still hasn't reached its limit or is rather pushed all the time a little bit more...
We all thought Uncharted 3 will be the most beautiful game we will see in this Gen - There is no doubt any 360 game ever could reach those graphics...It isn't possible(please don't say Halo 4 - Still not in the same league).
And what did Digital Foundry say a few days ago? - The Last of Us is DESTROYING Uncharted 3 and is pushing so hard beyond it that it is completely stupid.
As long as Naughty Dog isn't saying they are done with the PS3 we don't know what the weird Architecture of that console is capable of.
And Devkits are always a lot stronger than the real consoles.
They need the power to test stuff out and find the point to still maintain a lot of power for the cheapest price possible.
