Damn man, Sony are always copying! The bastards!!

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

OMG OMG OMG! It's got 2 extra buttons. This is going to revolutionise gaming.

It feels magical already.

Stunning. Revolutionary.

You guys are misinterpreting the patent, the patent is for Apple devices to interface with a generic type of controller.

It does not mean that they're making a controller in the Dual Shock design, this is common for patents though (ie: Microsoft has XBox patents where the 360 appears to be interfacing with a cell phone device -- that looks exactly like an iPhone).

It *is* significant in the sense that if Apple is developing a Bluetooth controller or allowing third parties to make Bluetooth game pads that interface with the iPhone/iPad/Mac/AppleTV/iTV ... that could mean big trouble for MS/Nintendo/Sony.

Because theoretically what this could mean is that you pay say $40 for a hypothetical iController from the store, then with an AppleTV or even a small dongle, Apple can have the iPad/iPhone that people already have in their house beam a signal to the TV, and voila, now you can play games without needing to spend $300-$400 for a game console.

This, this and this again.  They're not patenting a dualshock-designed controller.  Don't just read the sensationalist title and assume the worst.

i'm not sure but isn't it already possible to use a ps3 controller via bluetooth to play android games from your phone/tablet on a tv with a special program? i believe i read that somewhere but i'm not really sure.

and lol at this new ouya console, it would be dead before it would start to really live.

Fix the title. Should say Apple copied Nintendo.

because....ya know....dualshock is a copy of Nintendo controllers, etc.

Thank you.

Soon we, the dedicated console gamers, shall all be united in a fight for survival. It shall be over-priced products versus value, cheap half-arsed games versus high quality titles, monopoly versus diversity.

This means war.
