Well, my biggest gripe with the plot is the entire motivation of the bad guys, headed by Talia. They have the exact same motivation than Raz al Ghul did in the first movie, which can be described by "Blow Gotham up because it's such a shithole". You can understand that motivation for the first movie, since there Gotham is depicted as a pretty dirty and violent place. With the third movie however, it's very clear at the beginning that Gotham has changed for the better after some new laws have passed. Everything's clean and the police doesn't have anything to do since there's barely any crime. That motivation which held up for first movie has thus been completely invalidated. "I'm gonna blow Gotham up because of all the crime!" - "But there isn't any crime." - "Well, uh... I'm gonna blow it up anyway." Yea, makes total sense.

The point wasn't to blow up Gothem because it was a sh*t hole, their goal was to blow up Gothem to complete Raz Al Ghul's legacy and to avenge his death.

The cleansing of a corrupt city IS Raz's legacy. That's what he tried and failed to do and now Talia is there to finish it, but it makes no sense because it's not corrupt anymore. Things only start going down the dumps because of their own actions. This leaves only the revenge angle, which does kind of hold up, but nuking an entire city just to get back at Batman seems to be quite the overkill.

Some people have to ask themselves why Batman Begins and The Dark Knight never got this level of scrutiny. Was it because of expectations? Was it because Ledger had died? Were we more forgiving, then? Or maybe...just maybe....this movie isn't perfect.

Because it's the movie that we deserve, but not the one we need right now.So we'll bash it...because it can take it.

Major plot holes
High pitch/hard to hear bane voice
Banes death scene
Cliche ending
pointless inclusion of cat woman

TDK and Avengers was better than TDKR

1.Plot holes?

The entrance of the prison, when they bomb the basement where they had Bruce's stuff, when Catwoman shoots at the exit of Gotham.

I'm afraid I don't see the plot holes there.  I see people who have tried to create plot holes because they have to see problems in everything.
But maybe you could be more specific about these "problems" and then we can all have a better understanding of your "problem".

The exit of the prison was like some kind of well which was of course a hole, when Bane destructed the ceiling in the sewers to reveal Fox's secret technology office he made a hole in the floor, when Catwoman shot the exit of Gotham destroying the debris so that she could get out of there, she made a hole in the debris barrier. Can't you see the holes in the plot?

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

I was quite disappointed by it.

Weak character development

Huge plot holes

Wasted Catwoman

Worst death scene ever (Bane)

Predictable ending.

One thing is for sure: No other superhero movies in history has generated the kind of response and discussion that The Dark Knight Rises has. Two weeks after release and we're still talking about it. As much as I enjoyed all of the other movies, most of them didn't leave an impression on me that lasted past the dinner I ate when I left the theater.

I was talking about TDK much longer with people.  Outside VGchartz I don't think the movie(the shooting yes) has been really mentioned.   TDK came out my senior year, so it could be the difference of school talk, but it left a bigger impression on me.  The philosophical theme of TDK was much intriguing.  The amount of people who learned the joker lines and would mimic them.  The overall presence of the movie as times goes forward imo was greater.  Rises was good but less memorable.

TDK prompted me to make two threads here (one called "How did you get your scars" and another asking "What would you do if you were on that boat"  and talk about it outside of the internet.  It was pretty haunting, too.  I find myself discussing TDKR just as much, if not more.  Sometimes for the wrong reasons, though.

I feel like I could watch The Avengers over and over again. This thread is just full of Internetz people causing a huge buzz over a movie that they liked way too much. Same thing happened with Watchmen. Why is it that people have known about Batman longer than the Avengers, seen movies over and over again from Batman, but still the Boxoffice has fallen behind a movie that does not really have anything before it. Other than Thor by himself, Iron Man by himself, etc. When you all are so one sided it is hard to listen to anything you have to say.

Batman Story was better.
The Avengers event of the Year was more in your face fun.

Also Batman is some super assassin Ninja type mother fucker but he fights like he's a pussy. Just something I noticed.

Here's how we felt back when Avengers came out--just in case you forgot: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=143242&page=10

Not trying to prove or refute anything, to be honest.  I just posted it.  I'm gonna read over the old thread right now.

So now people are so desperate they are making up plot holes in TDKR?
