anyway your they don't show Batman when they show 5 seconds on the timer just about proves more that he's alive/

The whole alfred dreaming theory is wrong as he has no reason to see Selina Kyle in his dream..it could be a random woman...why a thief?

Besides Alfred got to the cafe because the necklace tracker led him there in the first place since Selina wears it in that final scene. It was Bruce's way of getting Afred to come there.

They didn't show Batman at the same time as the timer because the timer was on the bomb that was hanging 20 feet below the Bat.  Unless they did some sort of split-screen thing, there was no way to show the timer and Batman.  They showed Batman.  Then they showed the timer.

Alfred dreamed of Selina because, in the past 8 years, Batman has only touched two women--one was Talia Al Ghul (aka the woman who probably fatally stabbed him if he somehow survived the explosion) and the other was Catwoman.  He kissed Catwoman before he flew to his doom and I guess Gordon might have mentioned it to him.  He was at Bruce Wayne's funeral with Blake and Fox.  Some communication had to be made between the three.

There was a tracker in the necklace but Alfred no longer had access to the Bat-Cave and its technology.  You asked why Alfred would imagine a theif?  The better question is would Bruce Wayne give the necklace of his murdered mother to a woman who cost him his entire fortune, led him to Bane so that he could get his back broken, killed people, and kicked his cane out from under him when he was an invalid. Maybe Bane punched him in the head harder than we realized.

Face it.  Batman is dead.

I'm gonna with the real-life logic approach here since it's what I was thinking about for the 5 or so minutes when you think he exploded with the bomb:

DC Comics would never have let Nolan kill off Batman. So to me that rules out the dream theory.

Spoilers:  DC let Superman die at the end of All Star Superman and they let they let Joker die at the end of Arkham City and Batman 1989.  I think that as long as he's alive in the comics, the other media aren't canon so anything goes.

Having only seen Nolan's work in Insomnia and Memento (my favorite movie), I had no idea he was a twist ending guy.  I never saw Inception.  I thought he lived.  Then, I thought he died.  I've been going both ways on the topic ever since.  Right now, I'm on the "He's dead" state of mind.  If you think he lived, he lived.  There's enough stuff sprinkled throughout the movie for it to have gone either way.  It's what makes the movie awesome.

All I have to say to this is: Memento is sooooo good!

Story was long, interesting and amazing. Truly a breathtaking scope

Acting was flawless. Especially by Hardy, Caine, Bale and just...EVERYONE

Dialogue was well thought out and there was the occasional unique humour there

Only The Dark Knight comes close and while its story is superb and The Joker's character was unmatched, its action is not as good and it is not as long as this final iteration in the ultimate Batman trilogy.

Amazing + more minutes = even more amazing

The soundtrack was bombastic, really set the mood.

Best 1250 kr. I've spent on myself all year so far

Sorry to bump such an old thread, however, this thread was made specifically for me and I just now finally made it to the theaters to watch TDKR.

First off, TDKR didn't fail to impress. It was a great end to a great trilogy. (If it actually ends...) However, it wasn't as good overall as TDK and since I originally stated I felt TDK was not as good as Avengers, then its obvious that TDKR is not as good as Avengers either.

1) Bane and co was a better villian scenario than Avengers. But that's where it ends. Bane's voice was awesome.

2) Avengers in all of their good characters both independently and as a group blow away Batman, cat woman, and the police/Robin. Sorry, but the characters were simply overall better and had better inter-play than batman/catwoman. Hell catwoman was predictable as hell in every scene, every scene.

3) The rebound of the Avengers as a team made FAR more sense than Batman's recovery from a dislocated/broken back and climb out of a hole. I mean wtf that was kinda stupid.

4) The damn kissing scene when there were only a few short minutes left on the bomb was a major climax killer. Avengers had nothing but pure climax until it was over.

5) You actually believed their was a possibility of Iron Man living as it was actually explained clearly. Batman was dead. Him setting auto-pilot and jumping out at some point has a lot of holes. How the fuck did he survive a blast like that, how the fuck did he get the bomb ove 60miles away to not affect anyone on shore, how the fuck did he get picked up in secret and to France, how the fuck did catwoman know... jesus... so much left out. Iron Man blew up but protected from supersuit, fell back unconcious, saved by Hulk, and recovered. Makes perfect sense. 1+2=3. Batman is like x+y-q^3=x-pi. Just seems like too much missing.

6) I missed Heath Ledger and Joker. Scarecrow was there and you know damn well Joker would have been and it would have been sweeeet. ok, that's not really a reason but it would have been nice.

Well, I'm done. Can't wait for Nolan's Superman.

Only, it won't be Nolan's Superman, but Snyder's.

Well, I'm sure Snyder (who's also good) will have some feedback from Nolan as well. Eitherway it should be a great relaunch of Superman.

Your powers have no effect on me, superchunk.

I can't wait for Superman either, looks like it's taking a hint from Nolan's Batman series by making it more gritty and serious.

Snyder isn't taking a hint from Nolan's Batman.  He's taking a script from Goyer and Nolan. ^^,

Well, it's official. Batman Thread > Avengers Thread.

Also official:

Batman would have beaten Avengers if not for the theater shooting and the 3D tickets boost (and Avengers Re-Release).
