Wii is less than 4M away from 100M, approx 3.6M away me thinks, doubt that 360 or ps3 will top they are over 30M away from the 100M mark.

OT: I think if all 3 consoles are supported after their new consoles are released, (multiplats coming for all) then all 3 will make it to 100m. I think main thing about sales after a next gen console is out is just the type of support it gets. |
Did i say that logic was ok??? No, so the point you would bring that up proves what? that they are stupid too, When I posted there where no 360 votes yet.
All 3 will have sold over 80 million console sales by end of generation. Only the Wii can reach 100 million, 4 million away from 100 million. PS3 and X360 are still over 30 million under 100 million. Sale diminish in later years and both X360 and PS3 will both sell between 80 and 85 million by the end of the console sales generation.
Wii has its upgrade out by end of 2012. X360 and PS3 have their upgrades out 2013/14.
| ironmanDX said: None will. The Wii will have to sell a steady 40k each week for about another 2 years for that to happen. Not going to happen with the WiiU coming out in months. Don't say ps2 this and ps2 that either, the world is a very different place now, the economy and console sales are way down. Nintendo will be fully behind the newer WiiU trying to make up as much market-share as possible before the NeXtbox and PS4 hit the shelves. |
But this holiday season it will sell well above the 40,000 needed, so it won't need 2 years of sales. By the end of this year it will be almost there, if not there already.

Wii will be the only console to make. You guys saying the PS3 will make it are being delusional.

lol, putting that into context.... it was in 2007 and they both couldn't even break 10m in a year. A lot has changed since then silly.

So you made a faulty prediction without properly considering all of the evidence (Wii's limited hardware, 360 and PS3's price points, Wii's more "casual" audiance) when just about anybody could have seen that both the PS3 and 360 would break 50 million? You can't just dismiss that and expect people to take your current prediction seriously.

really now, how many consoles did the PS2 sell AFTER the PS3 was launched
the PS3 is a gaurentee the new model this late into the generation confirms that
Wii will. It's lost all it's momentum, but it did most of the leg work earlier in the generation :P
I'd say PS3 will too. It's doing quite well at the moment, I can't see Sony replacing it in 2013 to be honest. 2014 perhaps. Besides that, if the PS2 is any measure to go by (which it should be), PS3 will continue to be supported well into the next generation.
Microsoft I'm unsure about. They're certainly not gonna repeat what they did with the original Xbox and just cut it off, so it could certainly ride a PS2-style wave of selling after the generation is over. Especially if they continue to market it in Europe with Fifa games and casual stuff (although I think Sony will do a better job there). The fact it doesn't sell too well outside America is a bit worrying though, because as people say, I'd find that the most likely region to go all-out for the next generation when it launches.
