Pezus,
- Try to find where you are first (when you spawn, you got the nearest city or place at the right bottom corner of the screen under 'Chernarus').
- Use this map http://dayzmap.com/
- Use landscape and forest limits, roads... to find your way.
- Try to reach for barns, or deerstands. You'll probably found more guns in the latest. Sneak out of zombies line of sight and make less sound possible. Or, raid a supermarket, but they're rare and a middle of a city full of zombies.
- You'll find very useful info in the dayZ wiki

I've got a very good gear at the moment, AK74, G17 (hand gun), binoculars, map, watch, matches, ALICE backpack... I have the water can so I'm not dependent on consummables, I can make a fire, gut animals and heal myself with cooked meat so I can now survive on my own !

I can finally say that this game has a long learning curve, that you need luck, stealth, you need to find yourself on the map, check zombies pattern... I've made too much spawn where I did not knew where to go, what to get, and ended up starving or by thirst ^^, like yesterday when I run for the Green mountain and ended up in a military camp full of gun but without food and I died there in the middle of an armory ^^.

That. Sounds. So. Awesome.

- To refill water, find a pond, or a water pump. On the map, the pond are easy to find, and the blue drop are the water pumps. The easiest is to get near a pond, cause there's usually less zombies. When near the pond (don't get inside or you can loose all your stuff :dayZ bug:), just press G for gear, right click your water can, and click fill water. Refill whenever you can !

- Watchout with the Lee Enfield, it makes a lot of noise and the zombies will be attracted by it.

- Just got my first encounter, I wanted to get in a tree stand there was a player in it, I just stayed out of line of sight and GTFO. Pretty sure we all scared to shit out of eachother ^^ Fun. I don't know if it was a pk or not, did not want to try !
