hey! but WiiU is more powerfull than Wii!!! Lol

Yes, the phong shading is really nice, and the game reminds me of tokobot, so it should be really fun. I just feel that P-100 isn't a good show case for the Wii-U, it's art design and technology is very basic, especially for the video card that the Wii-U has. I mean the game is really rough around the edges. Still this is probably a rushed game, the Wii-U's GPU is far more capable than what's on display. Though back on topic, i wonder what is up with the CPU, even if the CPU is scaled back it should be as powerfull as the Power6 atleast and that's more capable than what's in the 360, think the video to the controller is being captured, compressed, and sent via CPU? And how do I double quote? I wanted to respond to you and the guy with the bolt in one response. |
My guess is that to fit the thermal and power requirements of such a small box something had to give so they down clocked the CPU rather than the GPU. The CPU should have advanced features like out of order and more cache probably some instruction set improvements. But those will take a bit of time to take advantage of and OOO won't make a big impact on code which is already highly optomised. Assuming that the Wii U GPU has some GPGPU capabilities some things could probably be offloaded to to the GPU which should balance it out a bit, but again that will take time for devs to figure out especially ones that haven't had any experiance in PC development in the last few years.
P-100 still has some months of development left so some things might be polished up, tho I don't think that it's a bad first effort for a launch title.
As for the double quote I just copy and paste, it doesn't show up as a quote for everyone tho.

So open up the quote box of one quote, copy it, and then open up a quote box for the other and paste it in there? I agree about the thermals, but I still find it hard to believe the the CPU in the Wii-U is weaker than the 360's, even at a lower clock, there should be enough performance for running Tekken Tag. It's not like Tekken Tag is using some complex physics or A.I. Unless they're doing graphic processing on the CPUs... anyways. I still disagree about P-100 it should look quite a bit better than it does, but I'll agree that it's looks are mostly because it's a launch title. Platinum probably wasn't given the time for it.

Yea tho I usally write the reply before copying.
It maybe that the engine they use is very clock dependent and doesn't take advantage of any of the architecture advancements, only uses 1 thread or something. But that is a wild guess.

We fight FUD, whether that FUD is "lol Wii U is weaker," or anything else.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
Maybe it is. The actual WiiU console seems pretty small so there may be some limitations. But the GPU should outperform the PS3 and XBox360.

well, that's not good to hear :/ i guess we'll all just have to see how things unfold over the next couple years
Worst case scenario the Wii U will have ports with some small performance issues. PS3 users have dealt with plenty of that and it has the cell!
