Does Resistance not sell over a million on a regular basis. Besides the Vita version.

it only takes like 30 seconds to go up to that search bar at the top, click the 'games' option, type 'Resistance', and click 'Go'. Pretty easy too..

I say this as a fan: Good!

More game series need to come to respectable ends. Not just when the sales die off (as is sadly the case here)

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

Competitive multiplayer was fun in the first one, 8 player co-op in Resistance 2 was great and the campaign in 3 was very good and by far the best of the series. However not one game had the total package.
Bad timing and bad marketing didn't help the third one either. Time for a new direction. Maybe resurrect Nolf or make something similar. They're good at crazy guns and gadgets, now go for some humor. Maybe a game based on Mars attacks.

I this Resistance is an "ok" series but the money would be better spent elsewhere. Killzone is leaps and bounds better in my opinion.

Resistance 3 and Retribution were great games, Resistance 3 sold poorly due to a nonexistent advertising campaign from Sony. Retribution had the problem of being on the PSP so most people just pirated it. Burning Skies was awful. I say end the franchise, it doesn't have much steam.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I think it is a bad idea. Look at Nintendo. They have kept Metroid going for years. Its not like it was a big seller, just a fan favorite.

Instead of just dumping it for twenty years like kid Icarus they should sell it to Nintendo.

LOLOLOL!

What makes you think Nintendo has interest in an FPS? Let alone a failed Sony IP?

I would view abandoning this property as being a positive move, but it would only be half the battle. Sony needs to abandon the Killzone franchise as well. While Sony does need a flagship product in this genre. It is becoming quite apparent that neither franchise is fitting the bill. As being a Halo killer, Gears killer, or Call of Duty killer. This would be a logical prelude to fashioning a new franchise. One that may have more resonance with gamers.

Sony shouldn't be settling for the ninth or tenth best selling franchise in this genre. They really need to be at least in the top five. If these titles are hardly sticking with their own customers. The truth is they aren't going to bring in the new customers that Sony needs moving forward. Sony needs to start over, and try to build something new. It also shouldn't just concede this share of the market to Microsoft.

Look I neither love or hate Resistance. It is apparent to me however that Sony should be trying to mimic what it is that Microsoft has done with Halo. Namely creating a franchise that can support a expanded Universe. Microsoft has a lot of synergy going with Halo, and if Sony had even half of that with Killzone, or with Resistance. Then the games would be selling better, and more money could thus be going into development.

Sony doesn't just need a great exclusive shooter. Sony needs to generate a strong franchise, and the Universes at play in their games are obviously not compelling enough to really engage gamers.

what a shame, i hope they bring it back later. I hate when they forgot their IPs

The franchise itself is pretty much dead anyway. Unless Burning Skies is a runaway sucess (which it's not) than the series is pretty much finished. Only Insomniac can bring it back to it's former glory.

Wow, so Resistance IS futile now.  It feels like, in the end, Resistance ended up being a holding the place franchise for Killzone.

Miyamoto said he wanted to make one.
