By god, Starhawk and Sorcery bombed it seems. Max Payne did terrible(Which I am not surprised by, it's an average game :), diablo ruling the roost it seems.

Wii did better than the numbers on the first page, PS3 did worse.

It's does not need to.

Nintendo sold 285k

3DS sold 113.5k

DS sold between 90k and 100k

So wii can sell between 71.5 or 81.5

In a way he's correct, assuming DS sold 95k. But the difference is minimal (5.5k for wii)

It automatically subtracts this little from PS3 too.

Vita, Starhawk and Sorcery all terrible.

How many Vita's did Sony "expect" to sell in the year, like 10 million? O.o

I may be wrong, but even worse is 5 million for the PSP

In japan, its biggest market it sold 414k so far this year - and less and less each month. And no price cut in existance will boost it in the west.

People say portables are doing worse and they are indeed.

But we can not forget one thing. At this point in time both DS and PSP were hacked as hell.
Piracy sells hardware like crazy! Here in brazil, there's huge quantities of DS, and 95% of them were pirated.

3DS and Vita dont have that "luxury"

Too be honest, the "low" sales for Max Payne 3 don't suprise me that much, it's a decent game but far from anything special.

terrible sales, wow, the Japanese market is now half as big as the American one.

Well they are like 1/3rd the population...

Home consoles: This gens home console sales are grinding to a halt...

Handhelds: Even the new gen handhelds are dying outside of Japan. Anyone still want to argue that non dedicated handhelds ARENT seriously hampering dedicated handheld sales? Pretty obvious they are and it will get worse, much worse... quite soon imo.

This confuses me though honestly.  I mean, cellphone games were ALWAYS big in japan.

I can't help but wonder if this is more just a demographics change.

In the long run as adults put aside games, there are fewer and fewer kids to replace them.

That said, i always thought that they would hamper dedicated handheld sales.

And console sales for that matter.

I know families that get portables instead of consoles for their kids, but make them keep em at home.

Gotta admit a couple Istore games had me intersted in getting an Ipad/Iphone.

3DS was cheaper though and has a huge ds back library.
