Although I think there will be a decline in PS4 sales, the majority of this prediction rests on the fact that I think the Wii U will do dismally.

Anyway, having read through all the posts in the thread, I still believe in this prediction! I think many of you are overestimating the appeal of a tablet style controller for the Wii U, and Europe (where sony is dominant) is going down the drain, and they will have less and less disposable income to spend on expensive luxury goods like the PS4.

MS win next gen? sure, i can believe that. MS (or anyone for that matter) take at least a 50% market share. doubtful.

I think MS and sony will be pretty neck and neck again. nintendo is a wild card for me. i want to say they'll lag 'cause the wii U tablet doesn't seem to be impressing anyone but who knows ... maybe it will work for them. i'm not sure how a tablet is new or unique but maybe nintendo can do something those millions of other indie devs haven't thought of.

I don't know if you are joking or not regarding the bolded bit. Exactly how MS could push Japan any further than they have already tried is beyond me and probably MS.

And that you adding the word "easily" means that you are indeed joking or have no idea what you are talking about. You have no idea of how hard MS has tried to crack Japan.

I doubt it will happen and personally I believe all nextgen consoles will sell a whole lot less than this gens but.. who knows. Let time be the judge.

This I disagree with the pricing and power – I think the PS4 will be less expensive than the ‘X720’ Microsoft will probably want to have included Kinect 2.0 accessory, and will need extra CPU horsepower; thus I think the X720 will be both more powerful and more expensive.

Since August of 2011 the PS3 160 has been $50 (US) dollars cheaper than the comparable Xbox 250, and the 320gb PS3 has been the same as the 250gb X360. I think Sony will be pushing a ‘classic console’ approach as they did with the PS1 and PS2. Not the most expensive, not the best hardware, but having the most games. I think they will put the focus on ‘everything you want to do’ with the new play station, as apposed to a ‘do everything’ as the X720 (voice/chat/internet/games/streaming, etc.)

I think Sony will probably have more first party games and a lower entry point, and they will try to launch about the same time. They are in a tough spot as Microsoft tries really hard to work with game developers through it's DirectX API.

Anyway, speculation is fun! Looking forward to see what really happens. I hope their is enough market share for 3 hardware gaming companies.

Easily was more in reference to the european market. Japan doesn't count for a big portion of home console sales. So i still see xbox winning the next generation.
