But if you look at the survey, the Internet won. As I first learned about the internet, it was at the university. I accessed the Internet over a Terminal that was connected to a big server. If at that time someone had made the survey, nobody would have mentioned internet, as nopbody even knowed about that thing. Internet started to became popular as it was possible to access it at home - with a PC. You needed a PC to access Internet. Sure, today are more internet-able devices like Tablets or Smartphones. But these only could grow with an already existant internet. Would you pay multiple hundred dollars to buy a phone that can execute programs (smartphones) wihtout internet. Even Appstores would be impossible without the internet. So the internet had to grow with the PC, that is the base for todays success of smartphones.

No, gaming-consoles already existed. Sony brought gaming-consoles to europe, that's all. Nintendo and Sega would have with time also build up there sales-channels in europe.

I would agree, that more gamers are on console-platforms than on PC (it's a feeling, not knowledge), but 90% is ridiculous. Have you data to back this claim?

As you can see PC (digital+boxed+MMO+Browser bassed games) gets far more play time than consoles which is only arround ~20% of time spent gaming.
