My favourite FF game is X, I thought it was a very fun experience with some comical- and some emotional moments. I thought that when the developers decided to display these moments, was very good. I also enjoyed FFV alot, as well as FFIV. I have yet to decide which one of them will take my number II spot. I may have not played a lot of them, but heck have I enjoyed them. Only X-2 has displeased me the most, but it is not as bad that everyone makes it to be, in my opinion.

This thread is so full of win!

I definitely enjoyed XII and XII etc, but they were not as good as the old ones... X being my favourite

I have been working through the old ones from the PSN, having played IV, VII and IX (V, VI and VIII have been bought, but I can't play it on Vita)

X-2 had a great battle system, but the story was kind of lackluster. If they had built a better story into the game X-2 could have been a great game. Then again that's how I feel about XIII. I didn't think XIII was a bad game, just the story didn't draw me in. The main reason why I didn't get far in the game was because Vanille's voice was like nails on a chalkboard for me.

I'm replaying 9 as we speak

Dunno if your here yet but right before you go to the eastern continent dont forget to bring your tanks! no magicians! Even though the game obviously tells you and I decided to ignore the game. It's really kickin me in the ass now!! First time I ever died in the game.

I've played all the FF except for 1, 2 and 9. That being said, my favorite FF is FFXII and I greatly enjoyed FFXIII. Not sure why a Final Fantasy fan would this dislike either of those, they are excellent entries in the franchise.

I know precisely why people disliked them:  Final Fantasy 12's gambit system basically made the game play itself, and Final Fantasy 13's combat system was even worse, with less control, the game was aggressively linear, there were virtually no sidequests or minigames, the story was poorly told and the characters poorly integrated....

I think this should be best left to another thread.  The point is, I know precisely why those two in particular were disliked by a lot of fans, even if I really liked XII's battle system and it was one of my favorite games ever, not just in the series.

XIII can die, though.

^Agreed leave it to another thread. Let's talk about the things we love about FF games in this thread.

Final Fantasy 8 was the first game I played to feature a fully vocal, English song.

I probably replayed that game scene 50 times to hear Faye Wong's Eyes on Me.

I see your point and that is a topic for another time as you said

OT: My fondest memories in FF are with FFXII. It was the first FF I played and it was just really cool at the time. The graphics were mind blowing and there was so many things to discover and explore. As overrated as play say it is, the story and the characters were great.

Final Fantasy X. I enjoyed XIII, but nothing has taken X's spot yet. I think it really had a nice blend of characters, and I must say it really was what made the game for me. This game was also the reasonn for me buying a PS2.

Lost Odyssey was the only game that came close to it... for me at least!! Go figure.

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"
