all of these numbers are extremely conservative here as well.

You gotta remember MS makes a killing off M$ points, avatar clothing, changing your GT, and other little things not taken into account. And atleast half of the consoles sold were priced at $299 or higher.

19 million kinects... so toastboy almost hits his 20 million number.... http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=119507

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Play & Charge kits, points cards, xbla codes.

I bet the MSP cards are a fair chunk.

BTW if folks didn't notice, Amazon Instant app launched on the 360 today.

What does it do?  I haven't fired up my 360 in probably a week or so.

It streams movies, tv shows, etc if your a Amazon Prime member(similar to netflix). You can purchase movies also.

I was trying to post this video decribing it all, but vgc got all screwy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Sg72YSD2XwM

Thanks.

@theProf00

Things you missed that haven't already been mentioned. Wireless adapters, HD-DVD players, Memory cards, Data Transfer Cables, Media Remotes, HDMI cables, alternate controllers, and keypads. They obviously add up to a real value considering how much they cost, but your right something is missing even if those are included.

In my very humble opinion perhaps, and I am going out on a limb here. This site has underestimated the tails of some of the less exceptional games on the platform. Which is entirely understandable, and frankly speaking not likely to be rectifiable. Obviously games do get sold even when they cannot be realistically tracked. Somewhere right now someone has to be buying a new copy of Blue Dragon, Resonance of Fate, or Dark Sector. I wouldn't get in a snit about five million or so games getting sold, but not accounted for. Given the duration of this whole generation that is to be expected to happen.

how much of those 56b are profit?

on the xbla cards cant imagin they get the full amount on cards sold at retail especially when they show up for 32, and in the past sometimes less. i imagine they sell them to retailers for something like 60% of the renew fee that live auto charges... ive never paid full price for a year of live since i bought the live pack for my orginal xbox

come play minecraft @  mcg.hansrotech.com

minecraft name: hansrotec

XBL name: Goddog

@goddog
thats one of the reasons i question the methodology.
does generate at retail mean simply what ms is showing as revenue? Because that should be lower.
at retail implies they used the retail prices, but then where did they get the sales data?
