My comment about patent laws was a general one, not specifically to do with these kind of scenarios. It's more the patent trolls or the fact that patents get filed over the most mundane of things. If only there was a way to cut the crap.

oh, certainly. Do you remember the very start? The 360 had way more games, and far superior multiplats, and the only viable online. as fantastic as the PS3 is now, it took 18 months before its games catalogue could be objectively considered vs the 360.

Indeed. Microsoft went out of their way at the beginning of this generation to buy exclusive games that Japanese gamers would want - but Japan is the country that truely does have the bias when it comes to consoles.

Sony ended up winning, so if Microsofts is lucky, they'll win as well. But I can't tell the future. Can you?

Motorola is playing with fire. Microsoft has one of the largest patent portfolios in the tech arena, wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft responds in kind.
And if the Xbox gets banned? Microsoft has 10's of Billions in the bank, the Xbox isn't even a bread-and-butter product, it would hurt the financials a bit, but nothing in comparison to having Office or Windows banned, this is why it's important for a large company to diversify so they can weather such storms.
Plus, people would still pay for Xbox Live!, games and accessories, just the consoles sales rate would come to a halt.

well in german it's Moto can choose to ban 360,not must
but since it's all about money i don't think they will do that
