QFT, except the last bit, it's all politics and how the ecosystem stays tight in the business world. Sue everyone, everyone sues you, come to agreement hopefully with some concessions in your favour, move on.

People don't seem to grasp that this isn't the same as taking your next door neighbour to court for damaging your property. That could or could not go to a judgement.

Hence, it isn't news at all and the only reason it is news is because stupid people don't realise how this works and sneaker reporters flog it as news to the idiots, when in fact the "news" is only of any relevence to shareholders.

My comment about patent laws was a general one, not specifically to do with these kind of scenarios. It's more the patent trolls or the fact that patents get filed over the most mundane of things. If only there was a way to cut the crap.
