Seriously though, probably the 3DS. DQ9 broke records on the DS, and it's very unlikely that any platform will trump the 3DS in Japan this gen.

It will depend on what is the most popular system as well as if the DQ into MMORPG experiment works on the Wii/Wii U.

If DQX fails to reach Square Enix goals or loses them a truck load of money, I expect the next one will be on iOS, depending on if it failed because of the gameplay or system will determine if it is a episodic release of traditional RPG gaming or another hybrid like DQ IX.

But be afraid because with Nintendo now doing paid DLC, no system is safe if Square Enix wants to bleed its fans.

Obviously on a Nintendo hardware. Because Nintendo is the publisher, in the west, of the series now. They have an contract with Square-Enix of exclusivity. Nintendo pays the costs of marketing of the series in Japan too.
