For anyone who follows the sales on the site (and if you don't, then I am disappoint), it's no mystery that consoles have been struggling. The 3DS is on top, but struggling to match its predeccesors sales, despite the huge pricecut, the Vita is below 50k sales for the week, and well below the Wii, around 70k, and the 360 is about to drop below 100k.

Or is it? And when will it happen?

Last week, sales hit 108,500 for the 360, a drop of 3,300 from the previous week of 111,200, which, in turn, was a drop of 9,600 units from the week before that. Sales have been steadily decreasing for a while now, and it would seem as though a drop below 100k is inevitable to happen sometime very soon. Personally, I believe it'll drop below 100k before E3, and may sink as low as 85k this year. Heck, even the PS3 may drop below that 100k this year, but that's a discussion for another day...

But what do you think? When/Will the 360 drop below 100k this year? If so, when? Vote in the poll and comment below!

i thought 3ds is selling better than ds? hmm maybe i'm wrong.

this week we had max payne and then ghost recon which was huge no clue if it is still huge. so i don't believe the next few weeks we get numbers for will be below 100k.

if we will get a price reduction announcement for 360 at e3 which won't be an instantly reduction maybe the e3 week or the week after but no clue^^ (ohh yeah the announcement would be before e3 right? then the e3 week if it won't be an instantly reduction.)

E3 Week.

Which coincidentally, will be followed by a pricecut.

I dont think that it will fall under 100k anytime soon. Maybe next year.

Maybe in 2 weeks, but it won't stay below the 100k mark for longer than 2 weeks.

probably during summer but MS will cut the price probably.

How many hype games are coming out for it that are exclusive to the 360 over the next 6months?

Not many that I can think of. I think it's almost a given it'll fall below 100k sometime this year, because if the price is cut early June, it'll reach 100k in October. If it's cut in July, it won't, but it will have fallen below 100k beforehand anyway.

Next week may be up at 110-115k, then down to 105-110k, then 100-105k, then 95-100k. I guess they'll be a price-cut soon after, so a large dip to 80k or so the week before as people anticipate it.

In light of this news I will say it will happen soon. Once E3 comes out people will either be hyped and pick some up or they will wanna wait till the price cut or for big games. I say a company should not announce a price cut until the day before it happens. That way people do not stop buying in anticipation of the drop. There is a one or more day warning and then let it happen.

I agree with that notion. That's what really hurt the 3DS pre-price cut. But if you just cut the price, people will get annoyed and say 'but I bought one yesterday!' etc., so it's best to give some warning. Even if it's bad for business, you don't lose customers who feel 'burnt out'...

A week at the most then. Also a rumor of a price cut is good as well.

I haven't actually heard anything of this rumour. I think it's more assumed really, since it's been so long since the last one.
