is this a global price cut coming? or simply clearing out stock for a PS3 super slim?

This shall make it interesting, i believe that they are only clearing stock for now. This will also allow them to see how it might possibly sell when they next drop the price next year.

However i do believe this will push the ps3 to just over 200k a week while they have it cut.

I think this is just a temporary sale, this doesn't seem like the right time for a price cut

Sainsbury's and Amazon have had that £160 price point for at least a few weeks now. I think it's just regular undercutting, but there could be a price cut announced at E3.

At £159 im actually quite tempted to get one...

Something about this thread and that new article on the front page about the PS3 not needing a price cut is rather humorous.

Perhaps 500GB and 1TB skus are just around the corner.

I am more leaning for a new model. The slim PS3 was never called Ps3 slim IIRC.
There's also an article that move is being relaunch this year so maybe it has something to do with it.

The only thing I can think is if they make the new PS3 to have a built in eye camera and a one PS move and DS3 for $250.

The strategy they are doing now about the move is not gonna work.

Price cut now wouldn't make any sense as last cut was so little time ago. I think they will cut the price in fall to combat Wii U.
