hahaha love this thread xD.
And it goes with what i have been saying judging from the rumored specs.
This gen will be the PS2-GC-Xbox in terms of power, the will be no big difference between the 3.

Funny how you like & support this thread, but you go all batshit insane when the similar thing is said by the developers on Wii U.

I mean, at least try to cover your bias...

Ok, I was reading the news about the financial troubles of Sony and the firing of almost 10.000 employees, taking those into account I think it would be in the best interest for the company to put less cutting edge components in its new console and try to sell it for at least the same production price, instead of putting something too advanced and sell it at a loss to compete with Microsoft hardware and price.

The PS4 can still be a decent jump, an issue with the PS3 was the cost of the newly developed Cell processor. Today costs of HDMI, Hard Drive, etc. have decreased in price. If PS4 matched the PS3 price of $499 itd still be powerful or full of capabiliites. It can be cheaper though and not be much of an issue. I personally want to see graphical advancement but I'm more exited for console capabiliites and game complexity.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

The ps4 will be leaps and bounds ahead of this generation, sony doesn't do that, VITA is an example of that, everyone expected vita to be barely more powerful than psp, and more gimmicky than any other device they've released to compete with 3DS, well guess what, it's almost as powerful as the PS3...... and it's being sold for a profit

Vita will be sold at a loss for 3 yrs

No where does it say that the vita is selling at a loss , it says they will make a profit on it in 3 years , So it could well mean they hope to get set up costs back by then , obviously R&D for the vita was nothing like what happened with the PS3 and blu-ray - cell adoption , so it wouldn't be surprising if they at least break even or make a profit and the make a profit  part , is most certainly what they do  on the memory card side.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

1gb of ram. Are you kidding me?

Yay!!!

People really think WiiU will be as powerful as PS4? Think again, the WiiU is such a small device, Nintendo didn't even focus on the WiiU console but only at the controller back in E3. Such a small device means smaller components and graphics unit. We all expect the PS4 to be something bigger than a WiiU thus larger components.

I expect the PS4 to blow away WiiU. Something like a HD5870/HD6870 wich will cost Sony less than 100 bucks. 2GBs of ram will be enough, not even PC games use more then 2GBs and 7th gen consoles produced great graphics with only 256MB.

PS4 launch price to be 499euros/dollars, seems to be the sweet spot, not too expensive and not too cheap to compromise on components , PS2 launched at 499 euros here in Europe.

Yeah I'd have to agree with that too, suggested production cost was $160 for Vita. That leaves enough wiggle room for some profit. The author misinterpreted the interview he based his article on, or purposevly spun it. Here's the quote:

"aim to turn a profit withint three years in the body of the Vita sale."

By "body" he means in total. They predict to sell enough Vita's in 3 years to make more money than it cost to create it. Not too bad over a 5 to 7 year life cycle.

Have noticed how slowly, slowly game consoles are turning into PCs. Well, nothing wrong with that in my book but it is interesting to follow each new integration of our favorite consoles.

A few posts up will explain it for you

Where?

and good hypothesis VGKing, I agree with you. I think the Wii U will be the equivalent of the Wii compared to GCN and XB. It will look better, but not by much, and it will depend on how the developer uses the system (e.g. XenoBlade looks amazing, but Fire Emblem looks old).

lol must have read it in another thread

anyway consoles get away with less ram due to the fact that they don’t run an OS in the background while they are running games also devs put in more work in their codes to get what they want out of the system.

I mean looking at the PS360 and you see how much they can do with so little ram compared to PC’s

Looks like I have someone else to add to my ignore list.
How about you stop obsessing about me? You and Zero. I know I'm beautiful but get over it! I'm taken.

VGKing this comment wasn't even towards you, I asked Roma a question, he answered, and on a side note I also said I agreed with you (didn't want to make 2 separate posts).

Last gen, I thought there was a huge graphical difference between the PS2, and the GCN/XB. I played both the PS2 and GCN back then and the difference was night and day. I mean just compare Twisted Metal Black to Smash Bros Melee, or GTAIII to Metroid Prime, it's not even close. Only end of life did PS2 games begin to become pleasing to look.

However looking back, PS2 had so many great games I missed out on.

I think Wii U will be what Wii is this gen. It will be more powerful then PS4/360, if it isn't how will Nintendo get strong third party support? Wouldn't it be difficult for devs to import PS360 titles (like Darksiders 2) to the Wii U if the technical specs were lower? However Wii U is a small device, just like the Wii, and I don't expect it to be too powerful. Still if Nintendo can make a proper HD Zelda (hardcore style like the N64 games and Twilight Princess), and an HD Smash Bros and Metroid Prime, that would just be awesome.

and hey....Backward compatibility, hello? I love it.
