Some of you are missing my point, Ya Nintendos first party games are ALWAYS going to be great to the Nintendo fans, they have one of the best first party games. They can come out with a console that sells 15 million WW and it'll still probably have over 10 games that sell over 10 million. It's just the way it works with Nintendo, there like the MAC of gaming, if it says Mario, Wii, or any other popular Nintendo character or console in the title Nintendo fans will flock to it.

But my point is as a leading console has it performed the way a leading gaming console generally perform? No Nintendo did there own thing. They stuck with there first party and everything went great for the first few years, but eventually the many big exciting games released on the X360 and PS3 and making it more enticing. So ya Nintendo dropped the ball, they relied to much on first party, which is fine, it pleases all the Nintendo fans, but as for all the other gamer's it kept them away.

The Wii is one of the best consoles I've ever owned.
In my opinion the XBox 360 and PS3 are disappointments.

lol the PS3 WAS one of the biggest dissapointments, but somehow Sony manage to take this broken over priced no games console, dig it out of the grave to make it the amazing console it is today. Last year the PS3 was the highest selling console beating the handhelds aswell, how does this happen!?. It's again looking like it'll be either first or second behind the 3DS. NO third place console has ever done this, it's become quite the success (not so much if you want to bring up money though... but still looking at the sales/position/games it's doing great compared to its first couple years.).

I wonder if you were to subtract the number of Wii's sold to casual gamers, that only bought 2-3 games, how big of a lead the Wii would actually have? I wouldn't be surprised to see the units sold closer or on par to the PS3 and 360, and I am not trying to exagerate on that either (the numbe rof replacement console sold by PS3 and 360 is another good queastion).

It was droping like a rock, Nintendo had to get a new console coming out because of the state of the Wii. It just didn't have the lasting effect it should of had, giving it somewhat of a "gimmick" title to the console. 

It peaked it's second year out at 24 million and went from 24 to 21 to 17 while the X360 and PS3 continued to rise and rise during each of those years. By 2011 it sold 11 million, sales were down over 50%, in 3 years! And during these 3 years there was several big selling games many price cuts different colors, Nintendo tried it all yet none had any effect, Nintendo would be foolish not to realize this and try to pop of another better Wii before sales REALLY got bad.

Third party developers is huge to this industry everyone knows it, most of the time third party can consist of more then half of all the games sold on a console. To not try to fight for them is just being a little ignorant IMO. With the money they were making they could of bought more exclusives, make some games timed exclusived anything at all to get people to want to buy a Wii because there favorite third party games only or always come out on the Wii first, it would of extended the wii's life significantly.
