Naaaice! Brett you're gonna get users returning from their exodus in droves if you do that. I will be a very happy user. Do make sure to offer the ability to separate the sales by region (especially for the Super Mario example).

As for suggestions, I'd like to insist on the customizable look and feel, and just clarify that it's for the purpose of site speed and performance. Many people prefer other sites (I will not mention so as to not offend) because they have simple UIs and load quickly. I'm not saying VGChartz should look simple by default, but at least give new members the option upon sign up to choose the fancy or the high-performance setup. Then, after sign up, give users the ability to customize their VGChartz experience (more fancy or more simple, it would be up to them). Believe me you will make alot of happy users. Make it an important sub-module of the site, easy to use and easy to see results, offer before and after examples even, templates, pre-created schemes (just some more suggestions).

I guess I'll have to respect your decision on text, as you seem pretty adamant. Still sounds daft to me though. It's a public forum not a personal business or education forum... User's signatures do far more to make it look messy and unprofessional. Being able to type in colours is a legitimate way of highlighting things that is far better than bold/underline/italic
