Judge for yourself

I think I had Sideways in my hands once, when there was still a thing called Blockbuster over here. Didn't rent it at the time though.

TV sucks during the Olympics, and the Olympics are always on commercial when I tune in. So I recorded 21 jump street yesterday, watched it today. It was funny sometimes, Forgettable too. 5/10

The raid showed up in the recommendations with 21 jump street on imdb. The 2011 one that is. Apparently the original is from 1954 which is completely different, and there is also a 2012 documentary called the raid following the experiences of 9 WoW players.

I forgot to mention i finished watching star trek tng. I had a great time..

I watched the place promised in our early days, you tube version (dvd is $183...)
No reason to look for an affordable version, the movie had trouble keeping my attention. I had to read the plot summary on wikipedia to check what I missed. It looks pretty though 5/10.

Watched Temple of doom again. Just as Raiders, it looks very good on blu-ray apart from the blue screen effects, they stick out like a sore thumb. All the model work in the mine cart scene is still impressive, actually all the sets look great. Sound also had a big boost. Great movie and I don't know if it's nostalgia but stunt work looks a lot more impressive without all the cgi.

Next up my favorite of the set, last crusade.

Yep, Last crusade is still my favorite of the series and still a great movie. Harrison Ford and Sean Connery work great together. Picture quality is very nicely detailed on blu-ray, except again for the obvious blue screen outlines being visible, and the drawn in zeppelin looks a bit weird. The sound is very impressive, the tank in the desert chase scene rattles satisfyingly through all channels with great subwoofer action that makes it feel like a real piece of heavy machinery.

Yup, meanwhile Parker is raking in the dough with his old plant big red, although never enough it seems.
I'm not sure though why Hoffman's season is also nearly over? No snow in the jungle... Rain season going to push them out? Did you watch Gold rush: the dirt too? Fred Dodge produced some big chunks from his private mine, they need to follow that guy.
Tod makes exciting tv anyway, what are they going to royally screw up next week...

Bering sea gold under the ice has finished again, they just started dredging this week. Seems Zeke is losing it, taking on the police next week :/

I watched Year one a couple days ago on tv. Ugh it was bad, I only kept watching to see how embarrassing it would get. At least Michael Cera was still funny now and then, Jack black was just annoying. 3/10

And I also watched Kingdom of the crystal skull again, it was included in the box set. Picture quality is unsurprisingly the best out of the 4, however the stunt work looked more fake than in the last crusade and also the sound wasn't as impressive. I still couldn't stand Shia Labeouf, yet I didn't hate the movie as much as the first time I saw it. Maybe because time heals all wounds, or since I watched year one before it, I'm now inclined to give it a 6 instead of a 4.

We just got back from The lego movie 3D, our first son's first movie experience. He loved it, didn't move an inch during the whole movie. It was a good movie, a lot of fun, highly recommended. I'm glad they added 80's space guy for this old dad to have something to relate too :p

The cinema experience wasn't that great however after 12 year absence. The screen is bigger, yet fixed 16:9 is a bit odd, it can't go wider for 2.35:1. Maybe in a different auditorium or do you get black bars nowadays....
Picture quality was sub par, very low res, I could easily see all the pixels. The color was off too, especially with the glasses on. 3D made everything seem smaller, kind of a waste of that huge screen. It was pretty annoying too with all the out of focus dof effects in the movie. My wife noticed that too, 'Is it just me or was most of the movie out of focus' I like to look around the sets at the background details while watching a movie, kinda pointless when everything is blurry apart from the foreground in your face action. In 2D dof effects can work well, in 3D it's an eye sore.

The 3D effect wasn't bad when everything stopped moving for a second but most of the time it was distracting. There was also some weird distortion going on in certain scenes, especially at the end with Will Farrel, his head seemed egg shaped coming out of the screen. My wife wasn't impressed either, 'This is not like how I remembered it, maybe it was just cooler as a kid'

I'll try again in another decade lol. Compared to my local cinema my home theater still is much better, no contest. I already added the lego movie to my pre-order list. Can't wait to watch it in 2D with proper balanced color and without the screendoor effect.
