I watched Rush today. I liked how the story was presented, the acting and attention to detail. Lovely to see all the authentic old cars. However it's a shame they chose to go with a heavily processed digital look for the movie. In places it makes it look like a NFS trailer. The races were also covered poorly with more attention on experimental camera shots and fast cuts instead of making the cars and tracks shine. I would have loved to see IMAX cameras put to good use here, instead it's often blurry with a lot of shaky cam. It's a good thing the actors kept the movie interesting. 6/10

In the behind the scenes footage Ron Howard explains he didn't want to go with modern F1 coverage but take a more movie like approach. I didn't find the result very appealing, the last race on Fuji was especially bad. The footage in the extras looks so much better. Awesome to see the old 6 wheeled F1 cars, never seen them before.

Keep seeing trailers for the new Robocop film Man that looks like its pure liquid shite.

Apparently it's coming in a couple of weeks, March 14th

Looks about as interesting as a NFS game storyline :/

That guys a great talent and its good to see him guy headline movies only wish he or is agent have better choices.

Watched the great mouse detective today. Very charming and clever, feels like a real movie instead of the tied together action scene set pieces a lot of western animation falls victim to nowadays. 7/10

Have you watched Elementary yet, still fun, Season 3 now I think.

The great mouse detective looked decent on blu-ray, not really worth an upgrade though if you already have it. It's one of the grainiest movies on blu-ray I have seen, luckily it suits the foggy London streets well. It's nice not to have macro blocking around the line art anyway, something that always bugs me with dvd versions of hand drawn animation.

First time I saw it, now I finally know where that clock scene with the giant gears came from. I've seen that snippet countless times, always wondered what it was from.

No compression artifacts on VHS superior version!
I enjoyed Pitch black, it's been a long time since I've seen that one. Maybe time for a refresher soonish.

I have The master waiting to be watched, but I just bought Tombraider for ps4 and I'm messing around with the Kerbal space program demo atm. Yay finally landed a Kerbal on the Mun, although he's stuck there now. Windows forced the game to the background at the crucial moment to ask if I wanted sticky keys enabled. (I was tapping the shift key to fine tune thrust for touch down) Then I heard the rocket crash in the background. Amazingly the landing pod survived and the guy could get out, walk around, do low gravity jumps, and look at his home planet he'll never see again. Always fun gaming on a windows system.

Yeah, Im really not liking what I see from this film. Im a big critic of remakes as they tend to never do justice to the originals. Also making it PG13 is just stupid. Robocops over the top violence is the main memory I have from the original. Id like hollywood to stop making remakes to cover up their lack of ideas and make new films with new stories.

It was a 15 in the UK and it was pig shit. The little girl reprogramming an ED209 to be as loyal as a puppy was ridiculous. Also what were they thinking giving Robocop a jet pack. The film never should.have been made.
