Game seems unpiratable, so I actually bought it haha, first PC game I officially own since ME2. Found it super cheap to brazilian standards, and also I have some (br) guest passes for WoW and D3 in case anyone is interested. Gotta post first impressions soon...

I've poured in 75 hours into the game, and I pretty much like it. I'm stuck in act 1 inferno... :P haha. But I'm not touching the auction house for any reason. I think that wasn't a good idea (even if I have to go against Twesterm). I've always thought of diablo as a single player game and you get your gear based on your own effort. I'd prefer to keep it that way. Anyway, I wish someone would help me get anywhere out of act 1.... barbarians have such heavy odds against them.

What sort of gear are you running? And build? My Barb got his ass kicked in the last half of Act I by almost every pack of Elites and Boss groups but he butchered (pun intended) the Butcher without any problems at all and barely fell below 50% health in the entire battle. I switched to 1-hand and shield but lost about 9k DPS as a result, this means that I take forever to kill Elites and Bosses and even some regular mobs can take a while to fell, Act IV on Hell was a cakewalk with 2-hand, murdered everything on my path, including Diablo and never once encountered a single problem. As it stands now, Inferno doesn't first and foremost show that its really, really hard (allthough it can be), it shows that it is horribly unbalanced between the classes and that the auction house is somewhat damaging to the core pace of the game. The fact that they had to seriously nerf some skills a while back also shows that Blizzard still make balancing mistakes in their games and rather big ones at that. Between the AH becoming mandatory for progress and the melee classes being so utterly underpowered in Inferno due to the need for both stupendous resist and armor on top of high DPS (this is impossible to achieve, there is always a trade-off) and the ranged classes all benefiting a lot more from simply harvesting maximum main stats for insane DPS and forego resist/armor, this game has made the ultimate mistake towards "hardcore" gamers; the much anticipated Inferno difficulty has shown the game's biggests weaknesses rather than its true strength.

PS: They claim that the Monk is far superior as a melee class on Inferno since self-heal becomes so paramount and their DPS is relatively similar given roughly the same gear.

As the game stands now, I strongly suggest anyone that wants to roll a Barbarian or Monk for Inferno and doesn't want to use the AH to gear up, to roll a Demon Hunter and use a glass cannon build to farm Act II Inferno for Barbarian gear (Maghda runs are easy, fast, and give tons of loot).

Thanks to that, I've managed to grab a pretty decent Barb gear, that has put my armor in the 10K mark (with War Cry at 40%), resists at 450 (all resist is probably one of the most important mods for gear in a melee class), 18.5K DPS (with Battle Cry at 30%) and a pretty darn fast attack speed (with 5 stacks of frenzy it goes up to 2.85). My only lacking stat is HP, at 36K, but that can be compensated with higher quality gems.

Also, if anyone is finding the self heal of a Barb insufficient, your best approach to it is to get as much Life on Hit and HP regen as possible. I myself got over 250 LoH and 600 HP regen, and given that at max Frenzy I can hit for almost 3 times per second, my life regen is almost 1.4K per second, which coupled with Revenge, means I can stand in mid mobs on Act I and my health barely dents.

All this was tried with a party of 3, so I think this build will fare even better solo (because of much weaker enemies).

Disclaimer - I did have to use the AH once for my Barb (heck, this has happened for all my three main characters), because after Normal, I can't get a single rare ring to drop, even with 190% MF and 5 stacks of NV and days and days of loot runs on Inferno. Heck, I still have level 25 rings on my characters >_>. Don't know what's up with that.

I've switched up my skills on my Monk and I'm finding Hell much more manageable right now. I now use Deadly Reach on my Spirit Generator which means I can hit enemies before they get to me also with the Hand of Ytar rune on Sweeping Kick I can slow them from a great distance which means more free hits for me.

Signature goes here!

I think that once next patch goes in things are going to turn around.
Because from what I have seen of most glass canons farming Inferno they are dying alot and they may pull good items but that does not happen that often so the new repair costs are going to hurt them a lot.
Whereas the builds that are more survival oriented are going to be rewarded by the inferno tuning of enemie's damage...

I know right now my Wiz doesn't die anymore in Inferno Act 1 and doesn't die that much in Act 2 so I am looking forward to those changes , I'm just hoping they are not too extreme...( running 6500 armor, 27.5k hp, 26k dps, 600 resists( got a lot of room for improvement on armor, just need to get drops...)).
PS : I don't run force armor, I don't have to, I run prismatic armor...

They're just tuning down the damage so that the spike between Act I and Act II isn't as huge as it now, because the current leap in damage is almost as going from Act IV Hell to Act I Inferno, without getting any gear for it on Act I Inferno to help you.

Also, they're nerfing IAS as well, so a lot of glass cannon DH builds are going to suffer a lot too from much less firing power.

Mmm Maybe I should try Mahga's run.

Right now I clear Vault of the Assassin ( ~ 10 elite packs) and then go kill Zoltan Kulle. I actually get most of my drops from the elites and the patch is going to improve that even more..

Where exactly you get your NNV buffs if you run Magha ?

Usually I get 3 to 4 stacks from the random vault level that pops up in the Dalhgur Oasis and the last stack in Alcarnus (I usually get two elite/champion packs there).

I go into the vault, TP, Waypoint to Alcarnus, kill everything in a straight line till Maghda and kill her. My fastest run was 20 minutes.
