Was it mentioned what it is for?

Thanks, I neede a pic like this, and about the sensor bar, I don't think there would be any issues as long as there isn't another sensor bar connected to the console.

It wasn't mentioned at the show but later on people started talking about it. The specification talked of a sensor strip and I thought that was an IR sensor on the controller just like the one used by the circle pad on the 3DS.
Next to the camera you have two IR transmitters, just like the Wii sensor bar. So even if the TV was occupied you could still play Goldeneye with your Wiimote and the U controller as your screen. A use is shown during the demo reel, the golf game that had the controller on the floor which then detects the Wiimote pass due to the IR.

Regarding the Wii U's power, take this with a grain of salt but a former Fench Journalist on GAF with second-hand info said the graphics fidelity on screen when the console is processing images on both the main screen and controller screen is 2x Xbox 360. He says this was mid development and that alot of graphical effects are added at the end of development so it can look better. He also says some of the hardware components of the console are 4x- 5x 360 and that the system will have more than 1GB of RAM. |
Thanks! This will be going in the OP.

Your welcomed (and you too NintendoPie). It's a shame the dimensions are in imperial instead of the metric system xD
Got the image from here, but I don't think there is anything esle interesting left.

Thanks a lot Roma. -.- |
If this helps, I was 3 when my brothers got the NES, and I still vaguely remember moments of gaming enjoyment. My brother was 10 and was subscribed to Nintendo power. I was 7 when the SNES released, and I very much remember being hyped for it before it came out, playing demos at my local retailer. We bought it shortly after.
I was 12 when the N64 released in Canada, but before its release I remember being extremely hyped for it, and bought myself a copy of Ultra magazine (a french magazine with all kinds of screenshots about Mario 64, Kirby's Air ride and other announced games). I went to La Ronde and did the lineups a few times to play the soon to be released Mario 64.
I was hyped.
Let's not even talk about how hyped I was about the Dolphin and the Levorution. I couldn't wait not even a minute, for many, many days.
