I'm re-playing BG2 atm. The only thing that needs improving is the path finding, the rest is perfect the way it is. Path finding is pure comedy now and then. Attack something and 2 characters decide to go all the way around the other side of the map to get there instead of waiting to seconds for the person in front of them to get through the doorway. Or send your entire group to an exit across the map and they all split up into completely different paths with some ending up in dead ends and having to double back.

It would be nice too to be able to play in a higher res. It scales up from 800x600. Running it in native 1400x1050 on my laptop would reveal a lot more of the map and automatically make it look better. Maybe there's already a way to do that?

There is

There were multiple revisions.  I can help you more if you need it in a little while. I'm studying for an exam right now however.

There's various forums that have discussed this and how to in detail.

THANKS!!! Now it looks better then most current gen games. Native res on an LCD screen is so much better.

At 1400x1050 I can see twice as much of the play area. The character portraits and side bars all scaled down :)

Pathfinding... oh lord. Same with Icewind Dale and Temple of Elemental Evil. And the AI characters in Neverwinter Nights 2.

Hasn't anyone been to the Twitter?

Theyre openly hinting BG3. If this all works out, we might actually end up getting BG3. This is huge.

I certainly hope not. BG is finished. If anything, ToB was BG3.

BG3 doesnt have to be a continuation of the Bhaalspawn saga, although it could indeed be continued.

Baldurs Gate 3 was planned before. They had ideas. They had pretty much everything ready.

I agree with this. The risk of it getting fudged up is too great. I'd hate to see the BG name undergo the same treatment as a lot of other franchises have this gen.

That is awesome. If it's an enhanced edition, remake or a new game I'm still totally happy.

I don't really see how that's a bad thing though. A new baulder's game doesn't make the originals any worse.

And they're obviosly made by a lot of different people. So it shouldn't the that hard to dissassociate them. I think it's better for someone to try and make a game like this even if they fail. As opposed to  everyone bitch about not having any games like baulder's gate and not even trying to make games like that anymore. That's how I see it anyways.
