I bought all D&D games from Gog.com... and haven't played any of them :S

But even then i'm hyped for this thing, I hate me!

You know something

I still haven't actually played the Baldur's Gates.

I have all the mods necessary to play them in comfort on my big-ass screen, I just haven't bought them off of GOG yet.

I should play Planescape first, though.

Please, please play them sooner rather than later. BG2/ToB is (imo) by far the best WRPG ever.

You and Mummelman in the same topic

Sorry man, it's not a brand of heuristics I find convincing.

In my own time.

With the games Bioware have stooped to making today, do we really want them to shit all over the BG license and name? Think about that long and hard. I know I don't. Bioware don't make RPG's any more, not even close, and its only getting worse.

I dont think BioWare themselves have the liencese for BG actually. Maybe it's some other company that does this and won't fuck it up? I am really just grasping at straws there, foolishly.

Well let me put it like this then. It's better than KOTOR, before BioWare started to consolize. Is that more convincing?

No. Christ, people, I'm going to end up playing the games, that's never been in question, I just have other things that are higher priority right now.

And complaining about BioWare "consolizing" isn't really helping your argument all that much, because the things I like best about RPGs aren't limited to consoles or PCs. Like I said: I'll get to it. I'm going to play Planescape first. From what I've played of each of them (about three hours apiece), they have the same strengths and weaknesses: good writing and horrendously shitty AD&D combat. I'll turn up the volume, crakn down the difficulty, and go to town in my own time.

And Baldur's Gate is owned by Wizards of the Coast, like everything that has to do with Dungeons and Dragons (including the Planescape property, though possibly not Torment itself).

Planescape was bad ass, in it's own way, don't get me wrong.  But I honestly don't think the Icewind Dale series get the love they deserve.  Much more dungeon crawler than either BG or Planescape, but a damn good series regardless.

All that being said, thanks OP for posting this. I knew something was up on that website but hadnt' checked it recently!

7 minutes to go when I posted this.  Anticipation growning.

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

Site wont load for me, but looks like someone on twitter caught the announcement - Baldurs Gate: Enhanced Edition - Summer 2012.

Platforms not mentioned on what I've seen.

Curious/cautious as to what "enhanced" means...

If I had to guess it'll be redone spritework and possibly re-recorded voices - maybe with more voices added in, due to more space in current games.

We'll see.

Site is completely shot for me as well. I will settle for remaking BG in some way shape or form, that doesn't suck.
