Forums - Gaming Discussion - Samsung Galaxy S3 specs - this is just ... WOW!

Isn't the HTC One (or whatever the heck they called it) going to get ceramic casing too? That phone looks pretty nice!... Sadly I'm horrible at waiting. :|

while i would like to have a Phone with 1080p Screen Res (just to troll other Phones of course, i think my eyes cant tell the difference of 720p and 1080p on a 4 Inch screen) , i'll instead wait for the ones that actually have some battery and dont die after 3 hours of gaming.

A 1080p display that size is nothing but a waste of processor cycles. You're burning power and losing framerate to draw pixels you need a microscope to see. So this is either fake or Samsung is getting stupid (or chasing after customers who are gullible).

As for the mighty debate of quads vs. duals, I submit to you the Tegra 3, barely edging out an A5 in CPU performance and still lagging in GPU performance:

Bragging about your number of cores is just like bragging about your jiggahurts. It's the real world performance of the whole architecture that counts. Will it render a web page faster? Run games with a better framerate? Save your battery life?

There needs to be a clever word for this speed and feed pornography.

Is this stronger than vita?

PSV runs a quad-core at 1GHz, but it's resolution is quite a bit lower than 1080p (1080p is totally unnecesary on that sized screen), the PSV probably has a significantly better GPU and a phone can't dedicate as much % of resources to gaming as the PSV can. So not really.

Thanks for clarification and just like you I don't see the benefit of 1080p on such small screen.

1080P on such a small device? What's the battery life? Eff all I guess.

Transformer prime was using Honeycomb in that comparison though. It is no secret that Honeycomb is not properly optimized for multi cores. After ICS it should perform much better (maybe not early on but after some time with it, ICS is in its very early stages after all).

GPU is also no surprise, given that it uses an old GPU, only a bit optimized.

1080p is stupid though, very unlikely to be true.

I;d be more excited if they put inside battery that can actually last few days of usage and don't require everyday recharge.

BTW why are you guys suprised with resolution ?

Apple set a new fad with retina display - expect all android phones to mimick it asap ;)

1080p is probably for output to TV. It'll probably come with a TV dock.

Coming with a 1080p display is in no way necessary to support 1080p output.

If those specs are true, then my HTC Sensation will be a little kid next to the GS3.
