Does anyone know why Sould Calibur V has flopped so hard?

Graphics are pretty much unchanged
less equipment parts for the character creation mode
Story mode is forgettable (is it really so hard to copy the one from SCII ? )
Cannot change the numbers of rounds for offline play. (3 rounds is standard)

Really the only good thing I have to say is that the character creation mode has been expanded with new options. Gameplay is still good though.

You have to admire how the same people always seem to get away with it.

On another note, sales are mighty boring this Year.

Launch time has an effect, but it's not a drastic factor in determining the success of a console.

Factors like price, games, features, brand name, etc are a lot more important than launch price. These are all the factors that attribute to the 3DS's current lead over the Vita. Launch time may have contribute a bit to 3DS's current high sales compared to the Vita, but to imply that it was drasticly important is silly. Though trying to deem that a lead over a console out for only one region as significant is silly in it's own right.

I personally don't really mind it though, it keeps the forums busy, not to mention The Troll Whisperer will whip him into shape soon enough.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

The point is Nintendo has ruled the handheld arena for decades. Sony tried last gen to displace them and were soundly defeated. Therefore by now granting Nintendo such a huge lead they are pretty much handing over the victory. Nintendo not only has a headstart but they also have momentum, and from the look of the Japanese sales they have the mindshare as well.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

holy crap @ 360 ff13-2 sales, the funny thing is the US version still got exclusive ad time on tv and dlc

Not bad, around 1M sales first week for the western launch of XIII-2. While it's not going to pull the sales of its predecessor. That's still very decent.

102,863 + 49,430 + 1,240 != 167,685

Maybe there is more to it, but the numbers you gave don't add up.

Do you think that the 3DS has leveled and will do about 250k week in and week out or do you think that it will slow down considerably before, say, E3?

Keep in mind, RE:R just launched in NA with MGS 3D to come on Feb 21st and Kid Icarus among others in March (and that's just retail).

Vita needs Monster Hunter.

Why was Skyrim adjusted down by 3-400K?
