Forums - Nintendo - Are Nintendo gamers enlightened?

I wouldn't buy CoD, but that's because I don't like that kind of game. As for the rest of the franchises you mentioned, Battlefield would obviously be as unappealing to me as CoD is, so that's out. I played the first AC game and did not like it, it doesn't get a second chance and is thus out as well. I love the two Batman games, but then they have plenty in common with Metroid and Zelda, which are obviously two Nintendo franchises, and I'll be all over the threequel if it happens.

I bought both the Wii and the X360 for the ultimate experience, just like many more Nintendo fans. However, this gen Nintendo wasn't even my favorite hardware developer for several reasons, but that's another discussion.

If a CoD was to be released on Wii U I couldn't care less as I've never really cared about that franchise since CoD3. But if another high quality third party title like Battlefield, Dead Space or Metro: Last Light were to be released (which they are) I'd buy them for the better system, which would probably be Wii U until Halo 5 comes out.

In the case of Call Of Duty? No, I will never buy a Call Of Duty game on any System.

Now as for other 3rd Party games? Sure, if the game is good I will certainly buy it. To be honest though, I only have so much money to spend on games and I will buy whatever game is the better one obviously. If that game is a Nintendo game then so be it.

I haven't bought COD s far on Ps3/X360, I'll never buy it on WiiU.
I wouldn't say Nintendo gamers are enlightned, but most likely they have a different game taste for the average HD console gamer, since they decide to renounce on the largest quantity and variety of games they could have on X360/Ps3.
This means only a segment of 3rd party games would be fully appreciated on WiiU ( maybe some kind of games could even potentially be more appreciated on WiiU than on HD consoles )
The former Nintendo gamer, is more intersted in core gameplay quality rather than presentation values or realism, so games like Tekken, SoulCalibur, SSX, Burnout, Batman are a better fit on WiiU rather than Crysis, LA Noire or Assasin's Creed for instance.

I'd argue it runs even deeper than that and that the Nintendo fanbase doesn't care about games at all.

This is true.  We also don't care for midget wrestling.

And that is why you fail.

Im a Nintendo/Wii fan and they will always be my first choice in gaming as Nintendo represents the style of games i go for. However i also own a PS3 as i want to experience games in HD and all the 3rd party gems Nintendo have missed out on this gen for obviouse reasons. But now with WiiU the hardware power is being addressed, which will enable all the 3rd party blockbusters to appear on a Nintendo system. This can only be a good thing for a Nintendo fan like myself as i dont have to invest in 2 different consoles to get the full gaming experience.Personally i think Nintendo would have cleaned up even more this gen if they had the power to match the HD twins coupled with the new innovative motion controls of the time.

I would never buy a CoD game. I HATE that game, sorry if you love it I just hate it. It's not that I would never buy a 3rd Party game it's because I don't really like FPS's. They are just boring to me.
It's also not that the Nintendo Fan Base is not "enlightened" it's that most of us NFB have a totally different vies on the games we like. The reason we love Nintendo is because of their games. Not because of 3rd party games. That is how every (well most) Fan Boy comes to like a certain company. By the company's games and actions, not by the 3rd party games on the systems.

No I won't, but only because I play that kind of games on PC.
Some others like GTA or Batman I would (even day 1)
Games from Nintendo will always be my Nr.1 choise, they have something most of the other games don't have, a "soul".

Call of Duty fans all look alike - obese, thick glasses, crappy looking beard, balding, and no real social life outside of LAN parties and magic card tournaments.
