Forums - General - English Wikipedia anti-SOPA blackout

Thank god I don't have a paper/report due. Hate to wake up tomorrow for a paper due the next day and realize this.

Good. People need to know how disgraceful SOPA is.

There are a few other sites doing this on the same day too. I wish Facebook and other BIG sites would do the same thing personally.

All post the same splash page about SOPA and how to contact your legislature.

Reddit is doing it too.

4chan? Google? If you're referring to the 'jailbait' subreddit, it has been closed.

i was in fact .. or more appropriatly referring to the 1 of CNN i watched about the subject when i was stuck in an airport.  actually, knowing now that it was closed makes everything thing about this entire farse far more hiliarious.  thanks you!!

Hm I wish the bill of SOPA wan't like over 100 pages then I would read it and have a much better idea for what's in store.

We have to kill SOPA dead now, people. It allows copyright holders to directly request to ISPs that they blacklist sites (without any judicial oversight at all!) and if they make a request, then the burden of proof is suddenly on the "offending" (read: innocent victim) website to prove that they are not doing anything wrong

This bill shreds all sorts of historical jurisprudence, and undermines due process as we know it. Sure the Supreme Court will kill it dead sooner or later, but will there be an internet worth saving by then?

You can download workaround tools to get around SOPA blockages already, too.

Well, I am not donating anymore money to Wikipedia. ****ing irritating. I didn't have an opinion either way, but I think I will support this SOPA thing just because the people who oppose it are now annoying me.
