Forums - Sony - PS4 early specs 'more powerful' than Xbox 720, claims source

The dick measuring competition has begun, despite the fact that both contestants are still denying they have one in the first place...

Either way, Nintendo will get the most action.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Sony should not do the same mistakes.

The PS3 was more powerful than the Xbox, but coming one year later and with third parties that made lazy ports, it did not show the difference. Sony has to release their console at the same time than Microsoft.

It wasn't

PS3 has edge in CPU but X360 has better RAM and GPU which is why most multiplatforms look bit better on xbox.

Late 2013 is just what most people expected, isn't it? One thing we should keep in mind: If both consoles are on track to release holiday 2013 Microsoft will be the company to say "Nintendo is faster! Quick, let's launch it 6 months early!" while Sony consoles usually get pushed back at least in one region. What JGarret wrote sounds reasonable: Wii U late 2012, Xbox 3 second half of 2013 and PS4 late 2013 or early 2014.

So they know the final clock speed and enough specifications 18 months out to make a judgement like that?

This.

Heck, there are still people debating about 360 vs PS3 for processing power etc. I doubt these people know anything tbh.

What type of processing power? If you are referring to the CPU, which I guess you are, you are wrong.

Dead wrong too.

I agree with Slimebeast, never get people who speculated Wii U(or any other console) will launch any other period than the Holidays, Spring release? Summer release? Q1 2012 release? People got to be joking lol.

Exactly. These things aren't so complictaed. A home console is launched on the Holidays (xcept when it's delayed like the PS3 in Europe)

D'awwww.

A new gen is coming, meaning new fanboy wars are coming.

Excellent, time to think up new insults to throw towards your least favourite camp guys!

What a flimsy rumor to base projections on. I'm not going to believe anything until I see spec sheets from both companies. It's far, far too early to start believing hype from either side.

Oh god, are we still having this debate? The only edge 360 possibly has is having all it's RAM shared. But PS3 more than makes up for it by having having faster RAM speeds and a significantly better processor. The reason why most multiplatforms used to look better on 360 is because the process of porting a 360 game to PS3 is difficult due to PS3s architecture. In recent years most games look identical on both platforms, and PS3 has had about as many multiplatforms that look slightly better as 360 does in the last 2 years.

as weve seen with this gen it doesnt matter which is more powerful but which one is more easier/faster to dev. games on

i see both MS and Sony's next console being pretty close, but it should be in MS best interest to release a console with a lesser failure rate and in sony best interest to have a more dev. friendly machine

I hope we see specs or at least an idea of what they'll be capable of.
