What the Xbox 360 has done this holiday season is just awesome. The console is now in its 7th year (!!!) on the market and did not receive a major price cut since  September 2008 (!!!) and profits around 2.5 billion USD for the past 2 years. Isn't it insane that there will be a SKU for $450 releasing next year? That is more than the launch-pricetag.

Now make the following pricetags possible:

• $199 for the Xbox 360 with 250 GB HDD
• $299 for the Xbox 360 with 250 GB HDD + Kinect 
• $349 for the Xbox 360 with 320 GB HDD + game (special editions like Gears of War 3 or Halo Reach console)
• $399 for the Xbox 360 with 320 GB HDD + Kinect + game (special editions like the Star Wars console)
• $99 Kinect sensor

This would boost sales even further. Especially the special edition consoles for games like Halo 4 or GTA V. I hope MS will provide new numbers at CES 2012.

It needs to be said: I just started playing Skyrim and I absolutely love it. This is remarkable, because I prefer linear games with a story that drives you. Somehow Skyrim is different. I am just 5-7 hours in and as a open world RPG noob I still have a few hours to go. Glad it gets the sales it deserves. The part I don't like is the over the top travelling, but I just skip these moments as soon as I can.

Lol yeah Reach sold 71k this week for physical copies.

@Worldlyfall: Yeah it would be great to see exact Halo Reach numbers, unfortunately MS doesn't talk about game sales that often.

@yo_john117: Looks like right your prediction about Left 4 Dead hitting 3 million before the end of the year came true, also Gears Of War 3 has now passed 5 million mark.

3DS exploded, Xbox 360 having it's best year, Ps3 rose a bit, Wii isn't as dead and Vita Bombing. What a great generation. Marvelous.

Awesome first week sales for SWTOR. It's sitting at 89 on Meta with 13 reviews and is a fantastic game!
